For all kinds of reasons, many of them rather horrific?

Seriously, though... to answer your original question, yes.

The kicker is: we don't know if, 5 years from now, we'll be shaking our heads going, "Wow, was 2008 nuts, or what?", or...



jeebus, I can't even go there in my head.

Whatever happens, historians will have job security for eternity dissecting the BFEE fiasco.
