Coup anyone?
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 12:44 AM by MichaelHarris
It could be worse, wait, it is.

“What are y’all doing?” she shouted. “I live here......"

Public housing residents angry, confused
http://www.galvnews.com/story.lasso?ewcd=214b72237391e8...

“We do not have housing,” he said. “There is no housing. Trust me, I lost my house on the West End. It’s just really bad.”

I grew up on the Texas coast, I've seen these projects, I've known people who lived there. Black, White, Hispanic, they are all there, homeless now, roaming the streets with boxes that may be their home tonight. John McCain wants to suspend his election because some insanely rich guys may loose some money while these folks look for a safe place to sleep. John McCain, you're no politician of the people.

Congress you want to do something? Find these people a place to sleep, find them a warm meal, make them feel safe. They didn't contribute to a campaign. The few pennies they had after rent went to staples like rice, beans, and flour. Mr. McCain they know how many cars the have. They don't count how many homes they have, they count rooms. That number is usually one. While you sit in a great white building deciding how much money to give to the leaders of failed businesses think about what these people are not getting tonight. A bed, a meal, a night without fear.

"Helen Roberson, 77, begged a man to crawl through her broken home to find her pet bird, Pretty Boy. When he crawled out carrying the cage littered with seeds and droppings and Pretty Boy clinging to the corner, Roberson broke into a wide smile."

Helen's not thinking about the billions you're about to give some bank. No, she's wondering where her and Pretty Boy are going to sleep. You care for these souls John, you look after those who need Barack. The world is watching. We need adults in charge, not financial advisor's for the corporations that have caused this current mess. Before you bailout millionaires you better look after those in need, they may soon decide enough is enough. That time may be near.

It's clear our President doesn't have any credibility left, Republicans won't listen to him, Conservatives have abandoned him, the country has given up on him. Someone needs to step up, take control, be in charge. Democrats and Republicans know it's time. Sure, it's hard to admit for the Right but they sense it is the right thing to do. It's not just our country bleeding, it's theirs also. This country isn't going to make it to the next election, you and I can sense that, no matter what our party affiliation, we know something has to be done. Are you going to sit around while insurance companies declare bankruptcy, refusing to pay hurricane claims. Will you watch while banks close and people loose homes? In the end there is only one political party here, it's called the American Party. It's time to take this party to the streets of Washington DC and demand an end. We better reboot soon.

Michael Harris

9. they
just got power, thanks for your caring. None can go to work yet because places where they worked are damaged but everyone is pitching in and getting things fixed. Galveston is going to take a while.

11. Yeah. Abandon democracy when the going gets rough. Brilliant.
You're trying to turn us into Somalia. And nobody's opinion but yours will be allowed, and the rest of us, regretfully, will have to die.

COWARD.
