Republican holdout.....McCain a hero?
Do you think this is a ploy to try and make McCain look like the hero of the day by skipping the debate to be in Washington to pass the bailout bill tonight?

2. Do you really think the Dems will pass agree to a plan while Obama is in Mississippi?
Only if they want to hand the election to McCain.

4. just as bad
That would be just as bad as the republicans doing this if it is the case. I'd just like to see something passed so we can move on and start the recovery.

3. No, the spin will be that McCain provided real leadership
by halting the criminal conspiracy between the Dems and the Bush administration.

McCain stopped the bailout!

:puke:

but that will be the story today.

5. good thing
The bailout is a good thing IMO.

I don't care what happens with McCain in all honesty, I just want to see something done.

7. It is a real possibility that this was the plan all along and the dems
stepped in the doodoo big time.
The majority of people certainly do not want a bailout.
It is very ironic that house dems are weighing in on the side of the administration that has, all to willingly, conceded to many of their requests.

8. It's possible because I believe that before McCain made his
unilateral announcement of suspending his campaign to work on the crisis, Obama called McCain and suggested that they do a joint announcement. But before that, a repuke Senator "friend" of Obama's called him and said why don't you call McCain.

So, the original idea came from Repuke Senator Coburn. Obama calls McCain... McCain makes a unilateral announcement and rides off to save the world. Obama works behind the scene to broker a deal between the Bush admin and the Senate. McCain comes swooping in last minute and says "not so fast, what about this nutso supply side rich get richer idea to fix things". All designed to make McCain look more like a leader than Obama.

That was my first thought too.
