What the hell is a Gop?
Edited on Sun Sep-28-08 08:17 PM by MichaelHarris
I was out driving around northern Idaho and eastern Washington today and saw a bunch of campaign signs that had Gop on them. I know what goop is, I know about Glop, I even remember Gump. Gop, no idea. The names look familiar but the party confuses me.

What happened to Republicans? Four years ago I saw all kinds of signs with the same names that said Republican, did that party come to an end? Was George the last one? What is this Gop party I'm seeing so much of? If I didn't know any better I would think Republicans are ashamed of the Republican name. I know that can be it because they seem like such a proud people, never hiding from anything.

It looks like we're going have it easy this time around because our only challenge seems to be from theses Gops. Gop, doesn't really instill confidence does it? If, heaven forbid these Gops are actually Republicans in drag then shame on them. What would their followers think? Hiding from a name, sheesh, isn't this the party that's supposed to protect us? Gops protecting us, what is this a Willy Wonka story? Shoulda called themselves Oompa Loompas.

Michael Harris
(Hey freeper, your party is ashamed of it's own name. What would happen if they saw their shadow?)

On edit: I wonder if we can make it a bad word like, you f&*$ing republican. Then the guys starts crying and says, "I can't believe you called me that!"

1. and they think that people are so dumb that they won't realize that GOP=repuke.
How sad...both their belief, and the possibility that they may be right.

4. Gop or GOP? The latter GOP stands for Grand Old Party, but it isn't that
...any more in fact Richard Nixon pretty much killed that connotation

white sugar or brown sugar on your gop? I hear a little cinnamon goes a long way on a steaming bowl of gop.

9. My Republican US Senator is running for re-election. No mention of her Party
on her commercials or signs. Wonder why? If you are too ashamed to be associated with the Organized Crime Party, why do you remain in the Party?

25. I like the fact that Democrats sued Dino Rossi over the GOP label.
It's the kind of tactic Repukes use over and over. Bout time we learned SOMETHING useful from them. And notice that we didn't do it early on in the election - (we knew the lawsuit would fail). We waited till people were ACTUALLY PAYING ATTENTION to politics, and made some great headlines. And called attention to the fact that, yes, these people are Republicans (helloooooo!) to those so out of touch that they didn't know. And brought out the fact that they were sleazy and trying to hide their true colors. That never goes over well.

:applause: Good going, Dems!!!!

30. In Florida in my area its the same.... I have to hunt for the party.. which is usually
the reason why I know the person running is a puke... they have it in the fine print.. AND little red this year.. mostly white, blue and mini-red..

Even McCain and Palin are using blue and white.. the only thing red was the dungeon they called a convention.
