Mark Crispin Miller: Spoonamore Reveals The Plan To Steal The Next Election
Via E-Mail:

Here, in this shattering new interview, Stephen Spoonamore goes into harrowing detail
about the Bush regime's election fraud, past, present and--if we don't spread the word
right now--to come. Since he's the only whistle-blower out there who knows the perps
themselves, and how they operate, we have to send this new piece far and wide.

Here Spoon tells us that McBush's team--i.e., Karl Rove and his henchpersons--
have their plan in place to steal this next election: by 51.2% of the popular vote, and three
electoral votes.

He also talks about the major role played by the Christianist far right in the electronic rigging
of the vote.

And he defines our electronic voting system as a major threat to US national security, calling
for it to be junked ASAP, in favor of hand-counted paper ballots.

Since Spoon is a Republican and erstwhile McCain supporter, as well as a noted specialist
in nosing out computer fraud, his testimony is essential--not only for its expertise, but,
no less, for the impact that his views will surely have on those Republicans who have been
loath to see what Bush & Co. has done to our election system.

That whole story's just about to break. In fact, tomorrow there will be a number of articles
appearing, on a recent breakthrough in the lawsuit that Spoon's testimony has enabled,

and on other aspects of that all-important case.

MCM

9/26/08: New Spoonamore Interview - E-voting Machines are a National Security Threat

Last week, VR interviewed GOP Cyber security expert Stephen Spoonamore about the upcoming election and his testimony in the new Ohio litigation to take depositions of Karl Rove and others.
The video is posted in full below with ten short clips for You Tube viewing. This interview is so important and explosive that we urge everyone to watch it.

Spoonamore says that the GOP wanted e-voting to steal elections but now foreign governments will be hacking and the winner will be determined by the best hackers. He says that if the GOP wins the hacking competition, McCain will win 51.2 percent with three electoral votes over Obama, and it will be a stolen election.

Spoon also makes a crucial point about the people who have been implicated in much of the election theft: "They are religious extremists." He names those who know about stolen elections, and he insists that the only way to protect this election is with paper ballots, hand-counted. Check out this extraordinary interview here.

22. Happened to me in 2002- our first year here in FL with those machines-
my machine kept tying to tell me that I voted for Jeb Bush- took 3 tries before it registered my choice for Governor. I knew then that they had fucked with the machine and put the default in as Jeb, assuming most of us would not take the time to check before hitting the big Red VOTE button.

Why stop now? It's worked every time in the past and the DNC does nothing.

84. Our machines did that...
The first election we used the touch screen was in a local election. A voter reported a vote for one candidate was switched to the other. The electoral board discovered the machines cannot be stacked too high or the screens warp. A warped machine has pressure in one area and not in another.
If all of the machines warp in the same way, the trick would be to set up the ballot on the screens so that the "sweet spot" is over the stealer's name.
Our machines do not get stacked higher than two or three so that this does not happen. They are being phased out and we will have Optical scan along with our touch screens this election. We will have a partial audit trail.

135. I think it's very likely it happened in 2000, too. DNC had no interest in securing election process
under McAuliffe's stewardship of 2002 and 2004 as it was acting as placeholders for Hillary2008.

Dean has strengthened party infrastructure in many neglected states so the steal shouldn't succeed on so many levels as they were able to pull off in 2000, 2002 and 2004.

I'm hoping Dean goes public with a warning about machine fraud in a way that corpmedia CANNOT ignore - maybe after the debates.

Because pundits and the people will wonder: How could polls fail in a way it never has before?

At least I hope so.

In 2004, the big story was how the exit polls had failed for the first time ever.
No one bothered to do anything about it then, and they wont this time either.

128. And the "Moosealini Effect"
There are those out there still trying to spread the meme that women will vote for Palin simply because she has a vagina. And while the mere idea was ridiculous even before Sarah opened her mouth, they will still try to spin it that way after the fact, if the theft is successful.

Just like they spread the "values voter" lie and the "people who got all a skeered of the Disney Animatronic Osamabot video" that was conveniently released on Halloween 2004, two days before the election.

51. That's exactly what happened in 2004.
Didn't seem to bother the MSM then. The people have to do a lot more than wonder to end this mess. BTW the thing that scares Spoonamore the most is that a foreign interest that wants to bring us down will drive a hack to elect the weakest candidates. Over the years I've repeatedly pestered my members of Congress on this. I hope I'm not alone.

Reports from the 2006 election, have the Dems actually winning about another 25-30 seats in the house,
that were stolen because the race was within the Diebold margin of error (7%-8%).

As long as voting is uncertain, the entire democratic process is worthless.

113. Media are trying to sell new cars to people who already have perfectly good cars.
That requires consumer confidence. Sowing doubt about the
validity of vote counts makes for unconfident consumers.
Also it's probably easy to rationalize that if people feel
their votes don't count, then fewer people would vote and
that's a bad thing.

62. They've been aware of it enough to write a pitiful little plank into the Dem Party Platform
of 2008 promising to require a paper trail for all the thieving e-voting machines, but not saying anything about the tabulators, or what to do if the results don't match the # of people who voted, or "proprietary" code, or anything else. They seem to regard everyone, including IT experts, who says that e-voting machines and tabulators and databases are intrinsicly unworkable and hackable as a tinfoil hat conspriracist. Not that they try to educate themselves on the reality of the situation. Many, many people have been contacting Congress about this repeatedly since 2000, with more joining every day, but so far no joy. Even Spoonamore says he gets smirks and snickering.

Sorry I don't have a more positive answer for you. I'm feeling particularly disillusioned right now because of the rotten bailout bill Congress is set to pass tomorrow. I don't know if I can move my life's savings out of the dollar in time.

PA is a classic example. We have electronic voting machines with NO, yes NO audit trail. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

There is NO WAY to verify that the totals that arrive at the end of the process reflect the votes people made in the voting booths at the beginning.

31. They did attempt it. Consensus among election integrity activists is
that the anti-war backlash mounted so quickly in the last couple of weeks before election day, and they didn't expect those votes to be channeled so exclusively toward Dems, that Rove got the numbers wrong. He and his IT guy, Connell, only wanted to steal the minimum necessary to win to limit investigations.

54. In the video, Spoonamore suggests that we all vote absentee
both to increase the odds our votes will count, and to protest the machines. The only exception is NYS, which for 2008 still has mechanical lever machines that are even safer than paper ballots since they aren't hackable and reduce the problem of ballot box stuffing. Those machines have for years allowed NYS to require an immediate election night count at the precincts so that there can't be any funny business with the absentee ballots either.

43. They were.
Nevertheless, as explained by Paul Krugman, the election in Florida Congressional District 13, which was “won” by the Republican candidate by 369 votes, was almost certainly determined by faulty (whether intentional or not) DRE voting machines. In Sarasota County, which used ES & S voting machines, 15% of voters did not register a vote for the House race, compared to 2.2% to 5.3% of voters who did not register a vote for the House race in neighboring counties. That amounted to almost 18,000 ballots that did not register a vote for the House race in Sarasota County. Furthermore, those who failed to cast a vote in the House race were shown by their other votes to strongly favor Democrats.

Why did 15% of the voters voting on ES & S machines in Sarasota County fail to vote for a House candidate? The answer to that question can be ascertained from an interview of voters by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, which found that one third of voters couldn’t find the House race on their ballot, and 60% said that they did vote for a House candidate, but their vote didn’t show up on their summary page.

if you could do it, wouldn't you?

The stakes are high enough. People hack into banks, rob ATMs, and sunddely we should assume everyone will protect the sanctity of the elections? Why would you expect no-one to take the opportunity to rig it if it can easily be rigged? It vote tampering can be done, and we know it can, we should assume it IS being done.

81. EYWORDS: "if it can easily be rigged?" I note your question mark.
and add one of my own.

Also ludicrous in Spoonemore's hypothetical scenario are several other factors. Counties know their tallies. So, the idea that the counties send the vote tally to a "man-in-middle" where it can be altered is wrong. THEN, every county does official reporting to the SoS, after completely counting absentees, provisional ballots, etc. If the vote totals were altered, it would be noticed.

It is as if these people are not thinking, or they just believe none of us know how to employ critical reasoning!!

78. Didn't Sarasota County have a different ballot design than the other counties?
Edited on Mon Sep-29-08 07:52 AM by Freddie Stubbs
If you place a particular race on its own page it is a lot less likely to be skipped as opposed to a race that is bunched together with several other races. Ballot design can have an affect on the outcome of a race, as evidenced by the "butterfly ballots" in Palm Beach County in 2000.

58. Ohio used all Diebold in 2006, and switched to electing all Dems to
the top state offices. The percentage of uncounted votes dropped significantly.

We need election security measures because votes, like money in the bank, can be stolen.
However, in Ohio 2006, Diebold e-voting was an improvement on punch cards.

In Ohio 2004, 15.6 percent of voters voted using e-voting, and they increased the Kerry vote over Gore's vote significantly.
The idea that Ohio 2004 was stolen with e-voting is ludicrous, it was in Nov. 2004 and we all knew it. It still is.

Indeed, Gore was robbed. We need further study and investigation into 2000 and 2004.

29. You can't win the Electoral Vote
by a margin of 3 (unless an elector in the actual casting of the votes defects). With 538 electoral votes, an even number, the closest margin would be 2 (270-268). Also, if Obama is up 55-45 or 56-44 in a state and the exit polls are in line with that, how will the Republicans get away with it without being challenged?

102. NC is possible for defrauding.
25 counties use touch screen voting (ES&S iVotronic), the rest use ES&S's optical scan. Including Guilford and Mecklenburg - very populous states with a large Democratic contingent. I think the machines are required to have a paper audit trail these days but I'm not too sure - can't find for sure if this is fact or not. I'm more confident about optical scan because that's the offical record of your vote.. with touchscreen the touch is the vote and the paper trail is a backup. It could still go wrong.

I wish it were the UK... still using paper and pen to cast ballots, and counting by hand. Thank you STV!

Mark.

56. They are already gearing up to use "The Bradley Effect" as a reason McCain
could win with the polls having him down several points. Any Democratic presidential candidate should be ahead by over 10 points at this point in time. Hopefully Obama will be ahead more than that before election day. If he is only ahead by 5 to 8, my guess is that the Republicans can still steal it and claim "Bradley Effect". White people said in polls they would vote for Obama, but didn't when they were in the privacy of the voting booth. It would be "mostly" a lie. I say that because it might happen on some small scale. I don't see it happening enough to take away an 8 point or higher lead in most of the semi -respectable polls. These people do not want to lose the presidency and all the things a Obama can not only uncover, but the totally different direction he will take the country that is to them the pure hell we have been through the past eight years.

I don't trust them at all. I'm not trying to bring down Obama or say he can't get the win, I'm only saying that we have all these awful traps set up for us to always lose unless there is a massive Democratic turnout. I'm still not sure Rove wasn't all that upset about losing the House and Senate in 2006. It temporarily proved to people that the voting wasn't rigged. Maybe he knew this new Democratic Congress wouldn't really go after anybody. Who knows? Rove is a political genius..an evil genius, but brilliant all the same. He plans far ahead and I'm sure he is guiding McCain 100 per cent.

That means the polls HAVE to reflect the fact that Obama has a substantial lead over McCain and this disastrous Sarah Palin. Otherwise, I'm afraid, very afraid. The Democrats have to come out and vote like they have never voted before. It will have to be totally overwhelming and totally convincing - leaving no chance for a Bradley Effect charge.

127. Actually, it is theoretically possible to win by 3 electoral votes
since a member of the Electoral College occasionally strays and votes for a third person who did not win his/her state, as was the case with Minnesota in 2004 (Kerry won the state, but one Electoral College member voted for Edwards).

After touching my Democratic choices on one page of the selection and before I went to the next page I see that my choices were switched to republican. I reselected the correct choices and submitted my vote. Who knows if they just switched them again.

Unfortunately no one in the main stream media will give any credibility to these hacking reports. The only way the story will be noticed is if Obama has a 7 to 10 point lead in the polls only to come up losing the election. Just as in 2004 the media will just blow off the stories. I won't be surprised if this happens.

55. ISSUE: rights vs. past and ongoing conduct of SoS J. Kenneth Blackwell
http://moritzlaw.osu.edu/electionlaw/litigation/klbna.php
Election Law Litigation
King Lincoln Bronzeville Neighborhood Association v. Blackwell

Case Information
Current Court: U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio (Case 2:06-cv-00745-ALM-TPK)
All Courts: U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio (Case 2:06-cv-00745-ALM-TPK)
Topic(s): Improper Election Administration
State: Ohio Date Filed: August 31, 2006

Issue:
Whether the rights, privileges, and immunities guaranteed to Plaintiffs by the Civil Rights Act, and the First, Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution have been violated by the past and ongoing conduct of Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell in connection with past elections in Ohio.

Status:
Order issued directing County Board of Elections to preserve all ballots from the 2004 Election. Answer filed 10/25/06. Motion for TRO filed 11/3/06. Opposition to TRO filed 11/6/06. Motion to dismiss as moot pending. Proceedings stayed until 4/9/07 to allow settlement negotiation. Stay extended to 9/21/07. Intervenor Plaintiffs, OEJC, called for criminal contempt proceedings against defendants on 7/7/08.

Summary
Individual voters and three voters' rights groups sued Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell alleging that Blackwell allocated election resources in a racially discriminatory manner and instituted racially discriminatory procedures for provisional voting, purging voters from the statewide voter registration database, and maintaining the chain of custody of ballots. The complaint alleged that these actions led to the dilution and/or cancellation of plaintiffs' vote due to ballot cancellation and tampering, long poll lines, mechanical difficulties with voting machines, and unclear precinct boundaries. The complaint claims that plaintiffs reasonably fear these problems will recur in the November, 2006, election, and asks the court to appoint a special master to perform Blackwell's election administration duties in that election.

McCain will use this to explain why the exit polls to do not match the vote after they use evote fraud to steal beyond the margin of error.

So, get out there and debunk the Bradley effect every time you see some media whore bring it up.

If they set the machines to start at Dem -10,000/Rep 0 then, yes a landslide will help. It they set the central tabulator to override all the votes and program Ohio and Florida to read 51% McCain then if won't matter if a McCain didn't get a single vote. There will be no way to prove it. And they will just have talking heads argue about the worth of exit polls ad infinitum.

I have provided the SoS with evidence pertinent to 2004 irregularities and to this case, and with a forensic methodology.
They have been investigating, outside the context of this suit, since taking office in 2006.
MAYBE a handful of people in the nation are more informed on these issues than Jennifer Brunner. LOL.

Don't make life more miserable for SoS Brunner than the litigants and other Republicans already are making it!

101. You are just a bunch of conspiracy nuts!
:sarcasm:

My question is why posts like this tend to get such a short shrift on DU. Go browse the election reforms forum and you'll see post after post after post after post calling anyone who even mentions election fraud "crazy" and "deranged" and all sorts of other not so nice things. (The same people tend to hang out in the other "conspiracy" forums hurling the same accusations there.)

D'oh!! Because they ARE the rantings of the conspiracy nuts!

And, very little by way of critical reasoning is needed to see that, once you filter past the use of very reasonable propositions and facts that are conflated with the idiocy!

Don't get me started, but even the title is FALSE!

Spoonamore Reveals The Plan To Steal The Next Election. Yeah, right!!!
This sort of pathetic attention getting always comes attached to donate buttons somewhere....... send money now and the future will be saved.

106. Raw Story: GOP IT Consultant Subpoenaed In Case Alleging Tampering In 2004 Election

Republican IT consultant subpoenaed in case alleging tampering with 2004 election
Larisa Alexandrovna and Muriel Kane
Published: Monday September 29, 2008

COLUMBUS -- A high-level Republican consultant has been subpoenaed in a case regarding alleged tampering with the 2004 election.

Michael S. Connell was served with a subpoena in Ohio on Sept. 22 in a case alleging that vote-tampering during the 2004 presidential election resulted in civil rights violations. Connell, president of GovTech Solutions and New Media Communications, is a website designer and IT professional who created a website for Ohio’s secretary of state that presented the results of the 2004 election in real time as they were tabulated.

At the time, Ohio’s Secretary of State, Kenneth J. Blackwell, was also chairman of Bush-Cheney 2004 reelection effort in Ohio.

Connell is refusing to testify or to produce documents relating to the system used in the 2004 and 2006 elections, lawyers say. His motion to quash the subpoena asserts that the request for documents is burdensome because the information sought should be “readily ascertainable through public records request” – but also, paradoxically, because “it seeks confidential, trade secrets, and/or proprietary information” that “have independent economic value” and “are not known to the public, or even to non-designated personnel within or working for Mr. Connell’s business."

136. Some comments on Larisa's article:

"created a website for Ohio’s secretary of state that presented the results of the 2004 election in real time as they were tabulated"

TRUE. But, Blackwell did not report the results "in real time as they were tabulated" for over an hour as the tally neared completion. There was a big gap in the updating near midnight, and when the Ohio SoS office finally posted the updated numbers, the election was reversed by the reported results.

So, it is true that the website was crerated to do this. It is not the case that it was done that way, unless a gap in reporting for over an hour is "real time".

TRUE. Connell is refusing to testify.
ALSO unreported, he is claiming Spoonamore is a competitor!

So, at the end of the day, what do we have? Larisa says it best, "raised eyebrows."

WOW. Raised eyebrows!! At least Larisa stuck to the facts in reporting speculations and hypothetical scenarios others have hyper-hyped.

107. Paper ballots are not impractical even at this late date
Any secure printing company, like one that prints cheques, can make up ballots.

Any printing company can print up the rest of it.

For procedures, just ask any Canadian involved in elections on how to do it. We're in the middle of one, we'll be finished before you are, we'd probably be glad to come down and help.

All you need is a surprisingly few number of volunteers from the Political Parties to scrutineer.

We do an entire federal election and have the results up in time for the 11 p.m. news.

109. Has this been sent to the Obama campaign?
I can't believe the dems would just roll over and take this yet again. Why would they do that? What do they get out of it. There has to be a reason for dems to accept this kind of crime without protest. Why didn't this happen in 2006?

133. U: "I don't see how ANYONE could dismiss this ..." EASY but not "out of hand"
and without hesitation, based on facts if you know the facts on the ground and have a basic understanding of how elections actually work.

And EASY without using your classificatory "the rantings of a tinfoil-hatted lunatic" scheme.

Conflating fact with disinformation is an old-fashioned propaganda trick. Ask any professor of communication and media.

I don't like to take time to explain this ad nauseum, like playing wack-a-troll,
but a lot of people are falling for this Republican's tall tale without separating the truth and the lies.

We have entire films about the dangers of our current voting methods.
SOOO, whoo hooo, one Republican admits the obvious. Someone tell Obama MCM wrote something about it.

Here is what is looney about this story. There are lies mixed in with the obvious truths.
If you can't separate the lies from the truth, you don't need a tin foil hat. You need a brain!!

123. In my small, tiny business way, I try to help with that change. Hope helps, change means action.
I am doing what I can to promote Senator Obama, and if I had more money, I would support more Democratic candidates. My money is tight, like many others, but I do what I can to help out as much as I can.

I agree with your statement though.

Peace!

130. I forwarded this information (and the DU link with this posting) to the Obama campaign.
Don't know if it'll work, but this is what I posted.

As an ardent support of Senators Obama and Biden and a Virginian, I am very concerned about the possibility that the Republicans will steal this election. I post on a blog called democraticunderground.com, and saw this post tonight. I believe it merits the Obama campaign's attention and warrants investigation. Thank you. My name.
