Palin's Parents Pan Media: Tell Early Show's Harry Smith Their Daughter Is Ready To Be President
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/29/earlyshow/main4484569.shtml

<snip>

When asked by Smith about rumblings that Palin isn't ready to be vice president and a heartbeat away from the presidency, Chuck replied, "She's ready to do anything she wants to be. And she perseveres, she works so hard, she learns so fast. Yeah, she -- I -- I don't worry about that at all. That's what I'll tell 'em. Yeah. ... You want some honesty, yeah -- yeah, not a typical politician, get her. Yeah. Yeah."

I can see who she inherited her incredible ability to articulate interview responses from...

Sally added, "She's got that ability to relate to people. She's diplomatic. She can get her point across.

<snip>

What part of her personality, or her upbringing, is going to serve her best in all of this? Replied Chuck, "Hard-working, perseverance, honesty. Yeah, honesty. She won't fabricate things or exaggerate things. She'll tell it the way it is."

10. I have a strong feeling that she will be in Alaska Nov. 5th and in her last term as governor.
I think the national platform at this point in her career has been a very bad move for her- but a great move for Alaska. She has been exposed as the fraud that she is.

14. They are adults and have put themselves in the public by doing an interview.
They are now fair game. Saying that she is honest? Please. She has lied as governor on so many scandals, it is despicable.

15. I don't know. The write up on the interview is pretty short.
I'm sure there will be more on the broadcast.

18. Well, of course. But I think wtmusic said it well above. Proud v. Denial.
To think this is an honest woman after all that has come out about how she has behaved in Alaska is just... sad, really. Maybe my parents were too hard on me, but if I had pulled the stunts she had, I don't care how old I am, my dad would rip me up oneside and down the other for lying and cheating people. That is a HUGE thing for my dad. And, because I know my dad, who doesn't do ANYTHING he doesn't want to, he wouldn't do a public interview if he were disappointed in me. And if I'd done the things she's done, he would be so disappointed in me. Honor is a BIG thing with my dad and in our family. To be caught lieing and cheating- wow. Just wow. (Believe me, I grew up in the same house. He was tough on me.)

You know, my parents told me the same thing. But they also told me that to do whatever I wanted to do, I had to be prepared. She is not prepared. I can not see my parents saying, if I had the same level of preparation that we see Pain has, "Way to go, kt! You're ready! You can do anything!" No way. Not my folks.
