bailout enhancements
just like companies are able to change pension and healthcare benefits almost at will.
Why don't they
a) change employment contracts for their senior officers to minimize golden parachutes
b) prevent stock options from being repriced
c) provide 90% of executive compensation based on results 10 years out to prevent shortsightedness

...to contribute to company performance over the long haul.

6. I haven't seen any evidence in my lifetime
of an 'outlook for the country'. All I've seen is an 'outlook for corporate America'.

8. Well said.. we need an outlook for our Country......
Not 30 more years of Reagonomics. Congress could reverse this situation with the stroke of a pen. Reverse the tax credits for companies to bring jobs home from China. Go to single-payer health care and get health care inflation off the backs of the employers so wages can be competitive.

2. For a corporation to participate...
...it should be required to have all its executives agree to salaries of $400,000* or less.

There is no such requirement in the bailout bill.

* - salary of the US president
