Should we be letting the bailout be run by the people who caused it?

I'm glad the vote failed because it didn't sound as though the taxpayers would get any kind of return on their $700B investment (Michael Moore's screed notwithstanding). But here's what I've been wondering: Who's going to be in charge of cleaning up this mess--the exact same people who caused it? Shouldn't there be some new people brought in? I mean, if the bankers are insisting on holding on to their eight-figure salaries and golden parachutes, maybe people can be brought in who are qualified but will work for a lot less money. That would stimulate the economy right there!

1. That's how I feel about it.
Oh, and I also want to hang Paulson next to Chertoff, but I've been feeling that way about a lot of people lately.
