1. I voted "oppose" ...
although I've heard some opinions (from people other than republican hacks) that there's some merit in stabilizing "confidence" in the market, mostly having to do with getting the damned banks to trade with each other again.

Just like Iraq, the real crime has already happened -- we were put into a position where going forward, there are no appealing answers. We can now choose between a list of crappy outcomes. Bailing out rich CEO crooks who don't deserve it, or possibly increasing the risk to otherwise "healthy" investments. Whatever that even means any more.

3. I have Krugerrands buried in the back yard. Zero on Wall Street, because why the fuck would
I trust THOSE assholes with my money?

If they're SO fucking intelligent about investing, why don't they stay home and invest, instead of having a JOB?

21. Some of us have no choice..401K pension plan and all that.
I had FINALLY after several years of not being able to contribute, started again this year..Now..Its probably ALL GONE..So yes, the stock market does fucking matter to this gainfully employed person.
Not to mention my retired father's pension is tied up in the stock market as well.
Not all of us can be self employed.

6. at the last statement we opened, our 401-k had about $65K
who knows what it's worth now...but I oppose a knee-jerk, hurry-hurry-hurry bail out plan..

I want real experts weighing in..and multiple suggestions about other solutions..

and I do think that this was drummed up by a vindictive loser- president who felt the need to throw a "bomb" into our election..

15. I'm with you on that. We have 3 plus a college fund.
The retirement funds won't be touched for over 20 years, so I'm not all that concerned right now, but the kids college fund, damn.

11. Well, I know what my last pension statement said.
I have no idea what I have right now.

And I have mixed feelings about the bail out.

13. I put pennies on the dollar into my 401K
...but I have a lot of "equity" in a house, and I have been unemployed since 12/31/07. And the latter doesn't seem to be changing any time soon. That said, IMO, either outcome would have the same effect on my sitch.

17. This is no brainer. Duh! Most of those in the market support the bailout.
I invest in the stock market too. But we all must remember rule #1 never invest in the market what you can not afford to lose.

18. I haven't been involved with any casino including the stock market since 1987
when I lost all my savings of $5,000 in the market crash. The company I had invested in went bankrupt and its stock became worthless. When I was a kid, no normal person invested in stocks. No one in my family invested in stocks. None of my friends' parents invested in stocks. There was maybe only one or two investment brokers in an average town. Now they are everywhere, more numerous than even lawyers. I really dislike the modern era where everyone must be an entrepreneur of their own life. Now, every citizen's life is considered a business. People must constantly trade up in houses, they must constantly trade up in jobs, they must have two people working in the household, they have to worry about their future and have 401Ks because life has become too expensive. I really hate the modern lifestyle where you constantly have to look over your shoulder for disaster to creep up and where you're truly on your own in a very volatile economy.

19. 0, . . and I don't know who to believe... .
I am not in the market for a car, or a mortgage, my kids school is payed for, my mortgage will be paid off in a few years... I don't own any "investment property"

I don't want anyone to suffer. I hope there aren't TOO many companies that need to go into debt to make their payroll. .

I don't want inflation to eat up the ability of people on fixed wages to feed & clothe themselves...

Everlasting Shame & penury on those who let it get to this state. THEY are the ones who should feel the sting.
