The Republicans are going to bring McCain in to loud fanfare.
Then they will demand a few changes to the plan in exchange for their votes.
The Democrats will, as usual, fall for the ruse and agree to the changes.
The plan will be passed and the Republicans will take credit. McCain gets a boost for being a hero.
The trouble is Americans don't want any plan. Just how the Republicans are going to persuade voters that the voters should be rescuing people who have lived lives of luxury by spending the money baby boomers put into the 401(K)s and pension funds is unclear to me. But with the help of Joe Scarbarough and Katie Couric and Fox News, they could probablly turn wine to water and feed a multitude with a few loaves and fishes.
After all, isn't that what being "Christian" is about for Republicans? Political power and luxurious lifestyles, country clubs and yachts at the expense of the poor? Why else do you think that Jesus did all those miracles if not to insure that Roy Blunt could call the shots in Congress to protect the multi-billionaires who have run this country into the ground?
