13. Something he said didn't make sense. He said that the 700B would have to be borrowed from banks.
It just needs to be issued by the Treasury. Out of thin air. Presto.

16. Wrong. The Treasury would sell T-Bills to banks and investors - many abroad.

Think "China". Think "UBS" (Phil Gramm's employer!)

When the Treasury borrows money it sells bonds ... and that adds to the DEBT. THAT'S why the 'bailout bill' added $1.5 TRILLION to the statutory public debt ceiling!

When you try to sell THAT much in bonds, the interest rates go UP. That interest ALSO adds to the public debt!

I know, I know...was at gym and had to watch Fox but Kucinich was really good and Shepard listened. Good segment.
