Letterman had the woman in charge of the UN's world food program on his show last night..
When Obama was on his show a few weeks ago, Letterman asked him a question about Haiti. He seemed very upset by the situation there, asking why the powers that be couldn't figure out a way to assist them. He obviously then went looking for a way to help. While Haiti was only one of the desparate situations that the UN person mentioned, the web page they directed viewers to is titled 'Letterman: Help Haiti.'

Good on him!

3. yes I saw it and gave - I have been looking for the right cause
with my own financial situation not the best, I have felt I need to give to someone where it would really help and this seems to be it - I even did it straight from my checking instead of credit card where they would lose some to the BIG banks who don't care

6. Having a Son has had a positive effect on him. He seems more concerned with the world now.

8. I think it's a reminder that he's leaving a legacy
no matter how syrupy that may sound.

He was a changed man after his bypass. His son was just the icing on the cake. I'm hoping he'll take up Paul Newman's mantle, too, even in a limited fashion.
