The Boss getting out the vote in Philly, yo!
Philly.com

"Bruce Springsteen will perform an acoustic set (this Saturday) at an open-air rally for U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D., Ill.) from a stage near 20th and 22d Streets, the Obama campaign said yesterday.

With the Oct. 6 deadline for voters to register for the November election approaching, (Sean) Smith (the campaign's Pennsylvania spokesman)said, the rally presents an opportunity for the Obama organization to recruit volunteers."

Anyone volunteering wull get to stand up close the the stage. Pretty cool.

A friend worried last night that there may not have been enough notice for this thing, but I said 'are you kidding? All you have to say is "free" and "Springsteen" and the city will instantly come to a crashing halt.' Hell, I said, if Bruce is here, I'm going to go rob a bank in South Jersey (which will empty out) but he said I should probably rob a home, because that's where everyone is keeping their money nowadays.

Yeah, we're just full of this kind of stuff here in Philly! It's a laugh a minute.
