Pledge To Be A Climate Messenger, And Plant A Tree In Niger
Edited on Thu Mar-15-07 06:11 AM by RestoreGore
It is currently almost halfway to the first tree with signatures from around the world.

http://tree-nation.com/#

The project manager of this site saw my petition to Mr. Gore on the Internet (the link to it is below in my signature) asking people to pledge to be climate messengers, and their site is now supporting my petition to Mr. Gore to spur people into action regarding the climate crisis.

The site will then plant a tree for every 100 signatures on this petition with the goal being ten trees for this petition, so I am passing this on and asking you to please help meet that goal by signing it and passing it on to get to at least one hundred this week to plant another tree in Niger to help mitigate deforestation which also helps alleviate poverty:

This site is a good site doing a good thing... planting 8 million trees in Africa (in the shape of a heart) to fight deforestation in concert with the UNEP (United Nations Environmental Programme.) I am so happy to know that this petition will spark real action and hopefully, Mr. Gore will also know that many people stand behind him as well in his quest to see real action on this crisis take place this year when this petition and the one below are combined and sent to him at the end of this month to show him our ongoing effort to be climate messengers.

It makes me very happy to see action taking place, because Africa is already feeling the affects of climate change. I hope you will also pledge to be a climate messenger and help in this effort.

Thank you!

For me, to know this and still do nothing is unconscienable.

It is so rewarding to be a part of an effort that will affect real peoples' lives positively. There is nothing negative about planting trees, and actually it is the one action we can perform on a massive scale that will not only bring a counter balance to CO2, but also provide sustinence for the poor who are feeling the affects of this crisis the most. This is what Mr. Gore is asking all of us to do which I would do regardless, so to be able to send him signatures from around the world to tell him we heard him is great. Thanks for signing up, and I hope we get at least the first hundred climate messengers before this weekend to plant that first tree.

5. kicking for the trees
Thanks to all who signed this or may sign it. It is great to go there and see signatures from Germany, Spain, Canada, Sweden, Indonesia and this country. We all need to work together to solve this.

8. Kicking... only one more signature needed to get to 200!
That's two trees...And Mr. Gore's office will see each and every one of these signatures and know that people all over this world are pledging to be climate messengers and to take action to address this crisis without a political agenda because this is a moral issue. We do hear the call Mr. Gore, and we are answering it with you!

9. Forgive Me But I'm A Bit Perplexed Here. ONE Tree Per 100 Signatures?
A goal of ten trees? Where's the motivation? Where's the benefit? TEN trees?

I can get ten free trees just by joining the Arbor Day Foundation for a ten buck donation. Did you type the numbers wrong or is this really supposed to be some exciting thing for this company to plant up to 10 trees?

I'm just perplexed here. Sorry.
