Sen. Reid-Gonzales Will Be "GONE WITHIN DAYS" - CRIMES WERE COMMITTED
Ensign renewed his demands for the Bush administration to restore Bogden's reputation, while Reid, who has called for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to resign, predicted the attorney general would be gone within days.

"I've been around this place a long time," Reid told Nevada reporters. "And I know Bush has a reputation for being stubborn, but boy, this borders on a point of beyond stubbornness, maybe foolishness, if he hangs onto him. Gonzales has done things that are incredibly shortsighted."

Reid also said he thought it was possible that there were crimes committed by Justice Department officials involved in the dismissals and subsequent explanations to Congress.

"I have had people who are into the law more than I am at this stage who feel that there are people within the Justice Department who've done things that are illegal in regard to this dumping of U.S. attorneys," said Reid.

3. Good.
Hope this doesn't deter officials going after all of them (by giving them an excuse). I hope somehow torture policy and other actions can get daylight for the mesmerized masses to see.

27. No Bush nominee would...
That's where you and I come into the picture! We need to remind congress that there were cases that the firings put a stop to, that should be looked at very closely by congress. Maybe a special prosecutor, someone not hand picked by the GOP, but by congress. I don't trust anyone connected with Bush, because they've all lied time and time again.

19. Drip............ Drip.......... Drip........ Drip...... Drip.... Drip.... Drip.. Drip. Drip. Drip
One drip at a time. One drip at a time.

God I want the fucker gone, even worse then when Delay announced his departure. Gonzales has been an integral player in all of this. I will rejoice heartily upon hearing the news.

Here's to hoping!

20. The National Review Online Editorial today on this topic, will make you laugh...
http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=OGUyNGVkZTNjN2RjOWYxN2RmZTIxZTEyODMyNDFjNjc=

Snips...
Yes, it’s perfectly legitimate for the administration to replace U.S. attorneys who, as political appointees, serve at the pleasure of the president.

Seeing opponents of the administration pile on over the “purge” understandably gets conservatives’ backs up. Take Jack Cafferty, CNN’s cheap version of MSNBC’s lefty blowhard Keith Olbermann. This week, Cafferty — a member of the “best political team on television” according to poor Wolf Blitzer, who is forced to say so roughly every 15 minutes — called Gonzales “a glorified water boy for the White House” and offered the hackneyed opinion that “if you look up the word ‘weasel’ in the dictionary, Wolf, you’ll see Alberto Gonzales’s picture there.” Clever.

The administration has dropped its opposition to Democratic legislation that would restore federal judges’ ability to appoint interim U.S. attorneys, a practice that the Bush administration had rightly seen as an improper intrusion on executive prerogatives.

Although these fumbles don’t rise to the level of a firing offense, Alberto Gonzales could yet become a liability on matters more important than he is.

Snip:

And I thought these guys didn't do comedy...

26. Making a virtue of necessity
The surest evidence that Gonzales won't survive this is the fact that Jonah Goldberg felt the need to pretend he wants Gonzales gone.

Odds are excellent he won't make it though the weekend.

Here's an indicator: Once this story hits Stewart, Colbert, Letterman and Leno, he's dog meat. You KNOW their writers are working up the material right now.
