For those supporting the "BailOut", write a "Thank You" note to your children.

Dear Son/Daughter,

Last night, I took another $Trillion Dollars out of your piggy bank.
I didn’t ask you, but I know you’ll understand.

You see, President Bush (you will read about him, SEE “Worst President Ever”) and some very rich Wall Street Bankers came on TV and said, “Something very bad will happen unless you give us your children’s money!”… so I HAD to do it.

They said that if I didn’t give them YOUR money, that credit would “clog up” and the market would “destabilize”, and I would lose money for MY future.

You are still young, and you can figure out a way to do without this money for YOUR future. President Bush and The Bankers said they might give some of it back, so this is not as bad as it looks.

I think we've got all of them fighting within all their various camps, cliches, and cults.

What we on the left have got to do is agree not to tear each other apart over this, even if we disagree.

The anti- crowd has already painted anyone disagreeing with them as neocon Wall Street fatcats and fearmongers who agree with the Patriot Act and the IWR.

The far right "free" market fundamentalists and what I can only call at this point the angry left having been using same sorts of language and hystrionics. I was remarkable to see that on some of the newspaper comment sections. Change a few words and phrases around here and there, and you wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between the two.

It's a clear assault on their ideas about government intervention and market regulation. The right-wingers know that having Bush pass this bailout will do a great deal of damage to their economic ideology.

...with making our children pay for this bailout?

There were alternative bailout plans that were PAYGO.

Our children are facing living in a Third World Country, banana
Republic either way. If we ignore, the fact that our Trade Policy
has contributed to lower wages and loss of jobs, we miss the point.
How can Wall Street Prosper if MainStreet is in the dumper.
If the Majority of Americans cannot afford to buy things, how
can Businesses support Wall Street. Our Leaders never seem
to look at the big picture. Treat each issue in a vacuum is
a losing proposition.

Just calling this a bailout for Wall Street is a mistake.
I hate the greed on WS as much as anyone else. However,
because of our system--Wall Street intersects with Main Street
You cannot punish Wall Street without further hurting Mainstreet.

They buried it under WalMart, Home Depot and Staples long ago.

Those "promises" were NOT a part of the BailOut package.
In fact, NOTHING that caused the problem was repaired.
Most economists agree that the BailOut is only a temporary patch.
Some, like Krugmen, who shamelessly led the cheerleading section for the Democrats, are now backing away.

*We'll fix it later.

*This won't cost you a thing.

*We included protections and oversight.

*We have to do something IMMEDIATELY! There is NO TIME to consider better options.


What do those phrases all have in common?


ALL we really KNOW is:

1)Our representatives in Congress gave $850 Billion dollars to Wall Street yesterday.

2)They put the payout on the nation's credit card, making OUR CHILDREN responsible for repayment plus interest.

3) Alternative PAYGO plans were proposed, but not seriously considered by the majority of our "representatives".
