American Carol packing them in . . . in Freeperland
TOTAL LIFETIME GROSSES
Domestic: $1,200,000
DOMESTIC SUMMARY
Opening Weekend: n/a
(1,639 theaters)
Widest Release: 1,639 theaters
In Release: 1 days / 0.1 weeks

Folks...this isn't bad, but Maher's new movie, "Religious," has almost as many box office receipts ($1.125M), with only half the theaters.
If you want to continue to see conservative themes in movies, particularly comedies, you need to get out there and see this flick!

Saw it this afternoon and loved it. Will tell my friends.

To: markomalley
I dragged my wife to see it at the 13:55 show today. There were 5 of us in the show. That would be $35!

To: markomalley
Took my daughter yesterday.

To: y6162
You mean five in the whole theatre?

To: markomalley
I saw it, it was fun. A regular Effigy burning of a movie, O’Rielly and Hollywood conservatives repeatedly slap, bash, step on, and verbally abuse, the highly deserving Michael Moore.

To: Excellence
Yup only 5...but it is nice day out...

To: markomalley
I hate going to theaters for numerous reasons from cell phones to rude, dirty and unhealthy humans. But, I might make an exception in this case.

To: markomalley
Hubby and I went to see it today. I counted 12 people.

Good movie, made me cry in some scenes but over all funny.

To: markomalley
I checked and it is not being shown in our area. It might be showing about 80 miles away.

To: markomalley
So, how's the bill marr movie?
I mean what was the reaction in the theater(or the communist debriefing bunker at the end of the mall , as Jay Leno refers to them as)

1. American Carol=Epic Fail...
Zucker should've stuck with the funny of "Airplane" & "Naked Gun." Putting O'Reilly in ANY movie is bound to fail...

2. And Kelsey Grammar.
I can't even watch old Frasier reruns with him in it. Ick.

4. Zucker has sucked for ages
Scary Movie 3? Scary Movie 4? I wouldn't watch his movies if he was a die-hard Kucinich supporter.

5. I wouldn't exactly say it's packing them in.
American Carol is showing in triple the theaters that Religulous is, yet their grosses are very close.

That means three times as many people have gone to see Religulous as American Carol.

Bill Maher's movie is trouncing Zucker's, considering it's in just ~500 theaters compared to ~1600.

13. Sorry, should have had my sarcasm smilie.
I just thought the gross earnings would be a giveaway. They're TERRIBLE for that many theatres. Too bad!

There's probably more laughs on this thread about their EPIC FAIL than in that sorry excuse for a movie.

6. five people in a theater?
sheesh, that isn't enough to pay the popcorn girl for a showing. Let alone the projectionist, the electric bill, the rent in a Sembler mall, or the ticket taker.

It does suck to be them,

opening weekend and there was almost no one at the cineplex so i ask the kid at the concession stand why it's so quiet and he says "It's been like this for the past few months, i guess people are broke".
