Sorry, but I've tried, I've really tried
but I just cannot tolerate Ed Schultz on AAR-XM. To think we could be getting Thom Hartmann. Very disappointed in XM.

1. IMO XM is breaking their contract with AAR
They're supposed to be the "exclusive AAR" provider, yet they don't air the full AAR schedule. Tis Bullshit.

As of now I only use XM for Randi's show. My local AAR has Thom Hartmann on before Randi so I listen there, then switch to XM, then Malloy online. It's certainly annoying.

8. Thank you for the information
I subscribed to XM almost entirely to get AAR, and am annoyed to learn I'm not getting what I paid for. I'm going to write them and complain, for all the good it will do.....

5. Ed Schultz certainly isn't for everybody.
But he does get the attention of many moderate conservatives, and he really is one of them. He works to keep that demographic listening. That is a good thing, just not your thing. They would not listen to anyone farther left. But he is also a progressive populist and farther to the left than say Lou Dobbs. We need him.

7. Sounds like pandering to me
We really don't need that at all.

9. Radio is a business, if you don't get the ratings you don't get an audience.
Pandering? I don't think he goes quite that far. Ed is an ex football player, sports commentator, and ex Republican. He is no Thom Hartman, but he does reach folks who are getting tired of Limbaugh's and Hannity's pandering.

11. I've been in radio, know the business
You can't please all the people some of the time with that angle... doesn't relate to a healthy AQH. I don't believe there are that many fence sitters.

6. I'm with you
Schultz is an odd duck. He's too much like politicians in one regard; you can't tell if his views are heart-felt or if he is trying to please too many people.

I didn't even try to listen when he came on XM -- he's on my local AM progressive station at the same time. I just can't stand Schultz. And to make the content of the show worse....IMO his voice sounds very like Limbaugh's. :puke:
