Maxim: Knowledge without Power leads to Despair
Has anyone else experienced this? In today's information drenched society, I think that we often despair because we know about much more than we can influence. What is especially agonizing is to see someone like Sarah Palin in a position of power without any knowledge. It really outrages us because it seems so unfair that someone so obviously ignorant can be nominated to such a position of power. Isn't this supposed to be a meritocracy where knowledge=power? It seems that 21st century America falls short of that ideology. Instead, those who look and talk the best BS get the power, and they don't have to bother with gaining the knowledge. And that's dangerous. And it really pisses us off.
I see this in my place of work, in my community, and in my government. I see it everywhere. This is the corruption I see eating at the heart of America.
