Have You Noticed that now that Congress is asking questions
the things the President and his adm. and the Republican Congress were doing sound really pathetic and stupid. Like this big hooha over Gonzales - when you just hear it for what it is it was a really dumb idea. And it just sounds dumber and dumber by the day.

And finally Bush is looking more and more pathetic - if that is possible.

Makes you wonder if there should be some kind of provision where all three branches of govt. can never be controlled by the same party at the same time - just because it is too damn dangerous.

1. having Repigs in control of Congress during the 90s may have cost untold billions to workers
even in the way they refused to reform health care, in any way. They wouldn't even debate it.

Just because Republicans waste time and abuse power when in control doesn't mean we should penalize Dems.

2. I don't know that we are safe from any party being in power if all
3 houses are controlled by the same party. It is just too damn easy for greed and ambition to take over.

It really is very important to always have a check and balance in our system or it just doesn't work very well.

4. Check out this quote. It's a hoot!
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/13710030/leaving_iraq_the_grim_truth

This is the last paragragh from the recent Rolling Stone article 'Beyond Quagmire', which interviews some very big names in the foreign policy field.

McPeak: This is a dark chapter in our history. Whatever else happens, our country's international standing has been frittered away by people who don't have the foggiest understanding of how the hell the world works. America has been conducting an experiment for the past six years, trying to validate the proposition that it really doesn't make any difference who you elect president. Now we know the result of that experiment . If a guy is stupid, it makes a big difference.

6. True. But which is worse: (a) Stupid & Evil or (b) Smart & Evil?

I'm afraid of people like J*b because they are (b).

5. There is something wrong when a dictatorship was so easy to establish.
Maybe time to rethink the American form of govt.

7. And the tireless champions of freedom in the media
Now that they've been given permission -- at long last -- to question some of the more obvious nonsense flowing out of the Bush administration, some scandals are actually being reported on all the way to some kind of a resolution instead of being a two-news-cycles-and-out sort of thing. If the Gonzales revelations had come out four months ago, we'd have as much trouble remembering it as we do Dick Cheney's secret energy task force meetings or the Chinese capture of one of our spy planes.
