$100B of the bailout bill goes into Bush's pocket
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 07:38 AM by MetaTrope
I found a trace of something disturbing in discussion of the bailout bill...that the initial bill had somewhere between $100B to a mere $1B going to Bush for "discretionary spending". Rather a wild variance in the numbers, and more recent articles have given no indication at all of whether the final bill struck out this little giveaway. Has there been mention anywhere regarding whether any of the money in the legislation that was passed goes directly to lining the lame duck's nest?

2. This Is The Final Fleece
Our treasury has been the boooosh cabal's private piggy bank from the first moment they invaded the White House. This "crisis" was just a sign of the rats starting to jump ship. Many are seeing Gramps campaign faltering and couldn't wait until after the elections to do their fleecing, they needed to bail out, NOW.

Damn right a good bunch of the bail-out money will end up in the booooosh corporate welfare system...totally vanishing like the many billions to contractors and consultants and other benefactors. You better believe that Paulson will all but give his buddies at Goldman-Sachs all they want to "save the economy" they helped screw up in the first place. The only solice here is that this bailout is so huge it's gonna take a while for all that money to vanish...but be assured, by Jan 20th, it'll be all gone.

4. OK, here's the smoking gun from CNN

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/03/house.bailout/index.html

The bailout plan's new provisions made $250 billion immediately available to purchase bank assets, leaving $100 billion at the president's discretion and $350 billion subject to congressional review.

Apparently it passed like that. I wonder if Bush even knows how many zeroes that is?

6. I wonder if this "discretionary spending" gets reported at all
or does Bush get to burn the receipts?
