Okay, I don't know if I'm a convert but I now have a better handle on the bailout...

I just listened to last sundays episode of "This American Life", it was entitled, "Another Frightening Show About the Economy" and it spells out exactly what happened in the market and why paulson, berneke and the rest of the boobs panicked.

I didn't like the first 3 page version, I didn't like the 106 page version and I certainly don't like the 400+ page version with all the pork that was passed, that said, I do believe now that something needed to be done. Even though we are now saddled with this bloated version of a "bailout" that will have nary an effect on the larger issue at hand.

and one more thing, this crisis is soooooooooo far from over. There is so much more coming down the pike it almost literally scares the shit out of me.

There are ways to address the real issues without throwing $700B at them...especially when the $700B won't work anyway.
