Biden: Say it to his face

ST. JOSEPH, MO – “All of the things they said about Barack Obama in the TV, on the TV, at their rallies, and now on YouTube … John McCain could not bring himself to look Barack Obama in the eye and say the same things to him,” Biden said this morning. “In my neighborhood, when you’ve got something to say to a guy, you look him in the eye and you say it to him.”

Biden, who arrived on stage in St. Joseph to chants of “Joe! Joe! Joe,” urged the crowd not to be distracted by McCain claims, saying that every “false charge, every baseless accusation is an attempt to get you to stop paying attention to what’s going on in this country and what’s going on in your lives.” And on the issues that matter, he said, McCain is offbase, particularly on his newest mortgage plan.

“The McCain campaign continues … to lurch from one place to another trying to convince you all that they’re capable of dealing with the incredibly difficult problem,” he said. “Now he’s gone to the point of actually wanting to reward banks and lenders for their greedy behavior. Ladies and gentlemen, this is not a steady hand.”

I posted this right after the last debate: "Senator, your campaign calls me a terrorist, your surrogates call me a terrorist and say I pal around with terrorists. If you really think I'm a terrorist, I would like you to look me in the eye, don't look at the moderator or the audience, look at me and call me a terrorist. If not, tell your campaign to stop it."

I dare him to go face-to-face with him on these negative attacks at the next debate.

If we vote for Sen. Obama, will they start to chant that we are terrorist sympathizers? Paul Begala this morning said that right now McCain/Palin are in the gutter, but by the time we are six days away from the election they will be in the sewer!

He has his surrogate say nasty, inciting things to stir up crowds with ugliness. He himself is so full of anger he can't think straight, much less lead the country on a positive course. GO JOE!!!

Seriously, Joe Biden rocks! I know Obama said something similar in one of his speeches too about how McCain couldn't say that garbage to his face during the debate. I love it, its like a dare and makes McCain look weaker and weaker the longer he keeps shouting these things on the campaign but never says it to Obama's face. I love it!

They're putting that one in a no-win situation. If he doesn't come out and say it at the debate, he's a coward who won't stand up. This will piss off the monosyllabic troglodytes that wander into the McCain campaigns and the Limbaughs of the world who speak for them. If he does utter it, BOOM!, out comes the tawdriness of the Keating Five, of Palin's ties to a group that wants to overthrow the US government- the Alaska Independence Party (which a Salon article indicates is stronger than previously reported), the ties of his campaign manager Rick Davis to Fannie and Freddie, and whatever else they can dig up. And the chance to point out the absurdity of wasting the country's time with talking about nonsense when the ship is sinking.

They're actually baiting him, like the bears and wolves that Palin likes to blow to smithereens. I feel so proud.
