Al Franken has taken the lead over incumbent Norm Coleman in the Minnesota Senate race, according to a new poll.

The Star-Tribune Minnesota Poll, conducted Sept. 30-Oct. 2, showed the Democrat and former writer-performer for "Saturday Night Live" with a 43 percent to 34 percent advantage over Coleman, a Republican, in a contest of Jewish candidates. Independence Party candidate Dean Barkley garnered 18 percent.

Coleman led Franken by 4 points last month in the same poll.

6. We Minnesotans are going to take Senator Wellstone's seat back from that jerk and
rightfully give it to Senator Franken. :bounce:

8. This would be such a tribute to Welstone...
having an intelligent, outspoken, unrepentant, liberal smack the carpet-bagger out of his stolen seat.

Norm is a liar and a crook who would say or do anything to get into public office. He moved to MN cause he couldn't get elected out East, then he changed parties cause he couldn't get elected as a Dem. Then the only way he gets elected is when Paul Wellstone dies and the Repubs pull their "false outrage" card and vote that stinking scumbag into office.

Franken is everything a Minnesotan, a TRUE Minnesotan could ask for in a politician; smart, honest, thoughtful, respectful, with a sense of humor and the tenacity of a terrier. I'm going to laugh myself silly the day that Senator Franken introduces President Obama at the great Minnesota get-together.

10. Welcome to DU, taddles.
:hi: It would be a fitting tribute to Senator Wellstone, especially considering the dubious way Coleman slithered his way in. Have you checked out the MN forum? Stop by and say hello.

18. The Coleman ads are so vicious and so constant that he's driving Minnesotans
who might otherwise be voting Repug, right into the arms of Franken. Whoo-hoo!
