Check out this poor newborns name - very sad
Jennifer and Troy, Wausau, son, Mavrick John, Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008.

What is this kid going to do, being named after a senile republican. Hopefully, they call him Rick and no one learns his real name.

(the misspelling is theirs, not mine)

8. No, but that's our county chairs last name
and he's no moron!

I love that sign, I wish someone would put together another montage of all the republican's great sign work.

6. In Texas, Maverick is an honorable name.
We don't think of McCain when we hear "maverick." It's Maury Maverick, late Texas congressman, a member of the famous Maverick family. Maury was a liberal democrat whose behavior in congress gave rise to the term maverick. The earlier meaning of the term applied to the unbranded cattle the Maverick family ranch found and applied their brand to. Not sure how many years the Maverick family history goes back in TX, but it is one of the honored names here.

Senator McCain, I knew Maury Maverick. Maury Maverick was a friend of mine. You're no maverick.

7. Unfortunately here in Wisconsin "Mavrick" will be forever connected to McCain
I've never seen anyone with this as a first name, or last for that matter. Little Mavrick is going to be the butt of jokes for a long time.

9. Perhaps not.
By the time he is 5 or 6, this year may be a blank slate for his parents.
I sorta get the feeling they do not read many many newspapers and magazines.

10. Kids aren't pets. Don't name them like they are.
Even though they will occasionally drink from the dog bowl if you're not watching them closely.

Just... oy. :banghead:
