McCain to make a Letterman appearance
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 10:46 AM by cal04

Dave and Mac make up: CBS announces that Senator McCain will appear on Letterman on Thursday, a makeup from his cancellation of Sept. 24 when he claimed to be suspending his campaign. Letterman savaged McCain for the snub, night after night.

Friday, October 17
Tina Fey (30 Rock and SNL)

13. I doubt he will. He'll just be gracious and give McCain a chance to get some points.
I hate American TV, radio, newspapers, movies, etc. It's all F ratings. Never about substance. Never about truth.

7. Agree. I wish he just would have written him off, but he's gotta do what
it takes to get viewers and advertising revenue. Sigh.

12. :( I hate that shit. He wanted Sarah Palin on there. Thank GOD the woman said no.
The last thing we need is Letterman trying to make Repukes seem charming.

6. `Hope Dave has a backup guest.
And if McSame does show, I hope Dave ridicules him mercilessly.

11. I think you can count on a very sharp interview
Letterman is the best political interviewer out there. He asks the hard questions and he calls bullshit when he hears it.

I would not want to be in Magoo's shoes. He's going to have to eat crow and answer a few tough questions at the same time.

If he tries to dodge at all, he's going to be in serious trouble. Oh, I don't mean in this campaign, he's blown it with his choice of running mate. I mean his next campaign in Arizona.

17. After He looses
I think he will retire. He may finish his current
term but then retire for "health reasons" which would
be very valid.
He has nothing left to offer the Country after this
dishonorable campaign he's run.

8. Its a win for dave
He basically shamed McCain into coming on and sucking up to him. Free pub for McCain anyhoo. If Dave refuses it makes Dave look small. BEsides Dave won that war, showing McCain for the Liar he was about suspending his campaign.

14. Americans are not sharp as we are and won't notice that.
All they'll notice is that Letterman is being nice and gracious to him.

10. Good.
Letterman will make mincemeat of the guy. I am sure he will ask why Palin didn't appear in his place and I am quite sure he will mention that McCain chose to interview with Couric rather than him.

Just another misstep by the McCain campaign. This should be amusing to watch.

15. Good. Plenty of time for people to make plans to go and shout "kill him!"
and "traitor" at the SOB. It's time to turn the tables on this bastard. And yes, if I lived in NY, I would gladly volunteer to do this.

18. I can't believe Letterman would shake his hand on air...
..after the swill his campaign has been spewing this week. Doesn't he realize it's tantamount to endorsing that racist garbage?

I thought he really had balls. Guess I was wrong.
