I hired a Fundie!
Hopefully, I can keep him. I don't care about the guy's politics, at least where this job is concerned, but I'd like to keep him long enough to talk to him about politics in a friendly, non-boss way. Unfortunately, I don't think he's going to cut the mustard.

9. He's a Rethug and a Pentocostal church member.
If I didn't know it yesterday, I sure do know it today. We had a talk.

5. Good Luck...
In my industry most of the people are, let's say, not the straightest bunch. Lots of current and former musicians and people who've been around the music and entertainment business. One day our boss came out and said he'd hired a new guy and that we needed to tone it down a little around him since he was a "christian". This was met with many :eyes:. Part of the "crew mentality" is that it's no holds barred amongst the crew. Nothing is sacred and you are judged by how well you gave it back. The poor guy didn't make it 30 days and it wasn't because we gave him a hard time. He couldn't get to work on time (how hard is it to get a wakeup call, take a shower and walk to the elevator?).

I have to say that we did "corrupt" another coworker. He was trained at Oral Roberts University of all places and within 6 months we had him taking the Lord's name in vain on a particularly stressful late loadout. :) Never got him to drink more than a Coke though...

13. Grrr I hate that. I had a guy in Target the other day say that someone
"Seemed like a good Christian." That someone was me. I told him that I wasn't Christian and that "good" is a matter of perspective. He looked all confused and wished me a good day. Heh.

14. LOLOL!!!! Shit, I never thought of that....
I've been asking the Rapture crowd to please leave me their stuff when they go *poof* but I never thought about asking about that on a job application.

Can I rely on you to be here after the Rapture?

Admitting to being a heathen versus employment

LOLOL

12. Be prepared to bite tongue
Especially if he's a creationist. They can spout the most ridiculous pseudoscience with righteous conviction. There is no point in arguing, because they believe a Deity is on their side, and a Devil is on yours. One I know, a pastor of a "free Evangelical" church,(nice guy in his own way)says the current economic crisis can be traced to the last four Democratic presidents--He told my husband this, I don't know his reasoning, I'm sure it's something crazy and weird.
