To counteract the right wing owned MSM and their 24 hour a day propaganda blitz.

4. I'd like to volunteer to be the first DJ
Buy I agree something started by the President wouldn't work. It has to be privately funded like Public TV but beholden to NO political affiliation.

5. Ownership rules need to be changed back to pre-Clinton days.
The idea of not allowing monopolies to control local stations would go a long way in getting balance back on the air. There is no reason that the government (the people) should allow two or three corporations to control all of the stations in your town.

The principle that "the airwaves belong to the people" has to be reasserted and that diversity in ownership will bring more diversity on the air.

It's always been a saying in the industry that a license to broadcast is a license to print money. The RW has allowed their wealthy buddies to scarf up more licenses than they should be allowed to have.

There is no reason that any one company should be allowed to own more than one TV station or two radio station licenses in any one market. And we should also go back to not allowing newspapers to own broadcast outlets in markets where they have influence.

This is just one more example where regulation has to be put back in place by the adults.

9. "If I were king...." LOL...
We we get control back we need to push our reps for these changes. I don't imagine it'll happen overnight and there will be immense pressure from the monied interests to not change the current status quo. We'll hear a constant litany of "It'll put people out of work", "We won't be able to run efficiently" and "We're able to serve the community better by owing all these licenses". It is, of course, all hogwash. And we'll have to fight the influence they have through campaign contributions to Dems.

We also need to get back to government funding of NPR and PBS and get the wingers off their boards.

8. Another example of the wild eyed GOP's frivolous deregulation...
scams, failing democracy.

The Ghost Of St. Ronald DeReagan(McCain's Hero)has returned to bite America's backside once again.

We the tax paying democrats end up paying to have Rush Lamebrain broadcast to the troops on the Armed Forces Network.

Corporate Owned Media, Tear Down Your Walls!

7. A change in Public Broadcasting leadership will help
I know a lot of people are down on NPR/PBS, with good reason, but a change of leadership there will help.

10. No thanks.
Mr. Obama has proven he doesn't need his own propaganda arm to reach the American people.
