The USA possesses only 3% of the world's oil supplies and yet
The only solution Conservatives can come up with is "Drill Baby Drill" when it comes to escaping high fuel prices. However it has been proved beyond any shadow of doubt that just by cutting back on Demand we have managed to slash oil prices almost in half. Republicans fought raising Cafe Standards because they said it would be useless. They have fought Conservation tooth and nail. I suspect if we were to really try to conserve and also to introduce Natural Gas to power our automobiles we could cut foreign consumption by another half as well. So why does "Drill Baby Drill" resonate with so many? Are Americans just that stupid that they can't see the truth right in front of them?

1. 15 mpg to 50 mpg
have a friend who installed some sort of device on their vehicle, cost about $250, and they increased their gas mpg from 15 to 50...imagine that...I don't see a problem with drilling for oil/natural gas...it's been done before, safely, and why in the world it isn't done more on our land, rather than sending $700 billion to countries, some of whom despise and hate us, is beyond me. I for one am tired of paying through the nose every time I fill up and the critters who allegedly represent us refuse to open the resources we have here...so that is why "drill baby drill" resonates with me...one, I'd fed up with paying high prices...no I don't believe it's my right to pay low prices, but I know that if the resources we have were pursued, the cost would go down...not to mention the high cost of winter heating...enough of us feel like we're being jerked around by every tom dick and harry in front of a microphone, none of whom has to decide which to pay, the heat bill, or limit the grocery intake...so who says it's only "conservatives" who want lower pump prices, lower home heating bills, and the end to partisan politics from those who allegedly represent us?

4. I'm not, the friend might be...
...but the device is real, I don't understand the mechanics of it, but it uses water...steam possibly?...and it has increased their mpg...I'm considering one...when the budget allows, probably never...but the thing is the long term effects on the vehicle...in the friend's case, an older vehicle, poos mpg...and it works...it has increased their mpg...it needs to be maintained...it does sound unreal, hey?...but it's true...there's other methods to increase mpg...

2. DRILL BABY DRILL!
DRILL BABY DRILL!

DRILL BABY DRILL!

DRILL BABY DRILL!

DRILL BABY DRILL!

DRILL BABY DRILL!

DRILL BABY DRILL!

DRILL BABY DRILL!

See how it doesn't require any thought? That's part of the attraction. They don't need to debate or even understand our energy problems. They can just drown out your argument by chanting drill baby drill.
