VATICAN CITY - The late Pope John Paul was wounded by a knife-wielding priest in 1982, a year after he was shot in St. Peter's Square, but the injury was kept secret, his former top aide says in a documentary film.

2. I've long thought that the Church to fear from itself than from outside threats

but I never imagined it would have turned "on itself" in this way. Still, better priests attacking priests than priests attacking children.

(And this from an actively faithful, but very disillusioned, Catholic)
