though I admit, I can't take one more ad for 1-800-OWNGOLD.

I swear... it's almost as if the pawn shop is now coming to us all, when I hear or see that ad.

The only candidate I ever heard talk about limiting advertising (in that case, for pharmaceuticals) was John Edwards. Sigh.

Who in their right mind would mail in their gold? Also all these ad's about working from home making $500 to $1000 per day part time. You know the only was to send the "small shipping and handling" is by credit cards then they have access and sign you up to their scam plan.

It is one sick world out there now , it is scary and freaky .

All I know is a real job does not exist and job security is a pipe dream.

How low we have sunk and how do we fight back without the majority of the countries support .

The advertizing on AAR has always been excessive.

For some reason their advertising doesn't bother me as much, but you DO have to hear a lot of Los Angeles traffic reports, but it's still preferable, IMO.

of course, all these ads sort of work since I can name them all by heart. :eyes:

Right now advertising is taking a big hit...and radio is at the absolute bottom of the food chain. The industry is on life support and the small stations, which most AAR affiliates are the worst hit. They're just trying to pay the electricty bill at most of these stations these days.

I agree the commercials I hear on the local AAR station are obnoxious but better to put up with the gold and real estate hawkers, old peoples homes and Orek vacuum cleaners than not to hear anything at all.

and he's talking about how we have lost our way as a nation and corporate over-lords, and then you hear him shilling for some gold rip-off (it's not that Au is bad, but their fees and the bid-ask spread are so high the price has to rise 45% to break even), or how GM cars & trucks are so wonderful. We are also inundated with political ads for the fake "progressive" ballot measures (i.e. BTW did you know we can't have wind, solar energy generation because the environmental extremists have such power that they can block those poor energy companies from giving it to us?)

In fairness they do have many progressive local businesses like Tom Dwyer that sponsor the station, but they have been overwhelmed by "those ones".

but man.... just air something different! I know some of these ads now word for word....
