She looks sad, he looks dead...
"The Dow is dropping almost as fast as my poll numbers, my friends."

And he looks ready:

1. They look like they are going to a funeral.
In a way, they are.

2. Eeeewwww...
You aren't kidding about McSame looking dead. Put that second picture on its side and that's a casket shot if I've ever seen one. <shudder>

6. The second picture is downright disturbing. They're not going to a funeral,
they are the funeral.

3. And the republicans could spin
that the McCain's were concerned and Obama was nonchalant while the country fell down around our ears.

10. Leaders should convey strength and confidence even in the most dire situations.
McCain looks depressed and distraught.

5. She fucking scares me
That teenage hairdo, all the plastic surgery, and those dead eyes, stretched so tightly, I bet she can't blink. Too much Botox, by far.

She's just so plastic, it's frightening.

7. McCain never had a chance. His own base went into this distrusting him.
And if he doesn't know that, he has no business in the Oval Office anyway.

I just hope the Secret Service isn't as in thrall to BushCo as the FBI. Because for them to sit there at Palin rallies and listen to her hatred and then, go out and "investigate" threats is a farce. I hope Obama has private security.

12. He's 72 and they're multi-millionaires
they should go party it up in Tahiti in his sunset years and enjoy the rest of his life. Let it go John, you're washed up now.

17. Those pics remind me very much of
pics of Herbert Hoover and his family, and then Franklin D. Roosevelt, in the waning days of the 1932 campaign, very eerily similar. Hoover knew deep down it was lost, but refused to let himself recognize it, believing until the end that he was much more popular than he was and that he still had a chance. Yet his true feelings would surface in many pics, and he'd be sad and sullen. He was badly received during most of his campaign appearances, and people would sullenly line up along his car routes and either be silent or angrily shout, some holding derogatory signs. So, even though there wasn't the kind of polling and opinion surveys then that we have now, he still had a pretty good idea of how negatively he was regarded. FDR, by contrast, was behaving much as Obama is, calm, confident, self-assured, conveying strength, stamina and leadership. May things turn out now as they did then.
