Early voting started in West Virginia today. Guess who voted for OBAMA!
:woohoo: :bounce: :woohoo: :bounce:

We (the WVU Young Dems) staged a rally at 12:20 pm in the middle of campus, and Obama's campaign paid for the Young Dems to rent vans to shuttle early voters to the polls for the next few weeks. Both myself and DU'er ThinkBlue1966 were in the very *first* van-load of voters to head to the polls today!

We'll be taking anyone (regardless of party or candidate preference) who needs a ride to go vote, but I can say that at least today, everybody who asked for a ride while *I* was on campus was an Obama supporter. We had a nice crowd, lots of signs, and plenty of chanting--"YES WE CAN!" and "What do we want? CHANGE! When do we want it? NOW!" We had a lone McCain supporter who kept heckling us, but we all ignored him and managed quite a lot of interest from the student crowd! I had SUCH a great time meeting the other Obama supporters, and we got the chance to answer a ton of questions from students who weren't sure how to vote. For so many of them, this is their very FIRST vote for a President. :)

Please join me in congratulating the West Virginia University Young Democrats for all of their hard work on behalf of our candidate. Now that my vote has been cast, it's time to work harder than EVER to finish turning West Virginia BLUE!

5. Bwahaha. You got me there. :)
The hilarious part was the McWaterboard guy--he kept screaming "NO WE CAN'T", but we did a good job of drowning him out. He actually got pretty aggressive toward the end, calling us "elitists." One of the guys helping us hold up signs yelled at him and said, "Wait a minute. You're calling US elitists, while wearing that elitist Hollister t-shirt? Yeah! 'Cause Joe Six-Pack wears fucking HOLLISTER, man!" The guy turned red and looked for a minute like he wanted to start something, but I guess the fact that he was one lone little cave-man facing a rather large crowd shrank his mojo just a little bit. :P

6. I wish I had known. I came into Morgantown late this afternoon. If I had known ...
I would have been there to support your rally. So from up in Preston County - thanks for all the good work you are doing!

7. Preston County? Wow, you're close!
My grandparents were originally from Terra Alta, and I used to live in Arthurdale with my parents when I was a little girl. We'll have to get together sometime, neighbor!
