KO & Rachel are kicking some A** in the Ratings!
Key Demo 25-54 KO beat Billo last night 931 to 829. Meanwhile Rachel is consistently beating Larry King and is coming up fast on Hannity! Rachel had 690 to King's 642 and H&C 745!

Tell me again liberal talk doesn't sell! :sarcasm:

1. I am actually beginning to like Rachel more than Keith
I love them both, don't get me wrong, but sometimes Keith makes me cringe. He can really get on a tangent sometimes. I guess that is needed but I like Rachel's calm and coolness. She also emanates Respect, if that is the correct wording...

5. Precisely why BOTH are important. They compliment each other.

11. Rachel is smart, articulate, funny, knows the issues cold,
enthusiastic/energetic, attractive and treats her guests and commentators with respect (even when they don't deserve it).

I'm a big fan of Keith too because he was in there fighting the good fight alone for so long.

Here's hoping we can get more progressive commentators and shows. I'm so tired of the right wing crap coming out of the supposedly "main stream news" outlets, I could scream.

4. They just needed to find a formula
You can't approach intelligent people with bullcrap and fear mongering. But you can approach them with wit, irony, and drama. Jon Stewart has been nailing this a long time, and KO and his proteges are adapting it to a "real news" set.

6. I think this is really really important. .
If they pay the sponsor's bills, then much of their bottom line is fulfilled. Fairness Doctrine or not, we may find that the truth is a winning ticket.

8. MSNBC and CNBC were credited with Helping GE
While General Electric's overall third quarter profit dropped 23%, sales income at NBCU gained nearly 10% last quarter. Much of that is due to the division's cable networks including CNBC and MSNBC. In a press release sent out this morning, executives from the networks talked about the growth, despite (or perhaps because of) the financial crisis and faltering economy.

Said CNBC president Mark Hoffman, "We delivered business news, data and analysis in real-time to viewers and users on multiple platforms all over the world while offering our clients unmatched customized advertising solutions that reach the most educated and affluent audience on TV."

MSNBC president Phil Griffin added, "This is an exciting time at MSNBC, as we've experienced historic growth. We've had incredible performance this quarter and the addition of Rachel Maddow has solidified our primetime schedule."

9. Isn't there some distortion in these numbers?
MSNBC isn't carried on the same (cheaper) tiers as the others on cable.

10. On my system, it is.
But there are still many cable systems that carry Fixed Noise that don't carry MSNBC.

12. I have been watching all of Maddow's video's on MSNBC.
She rocks. I can relate to her.

Funny, I am not loving Keith quite as much lately, but he is the papa bear now.
