1. Yes and No
Like the massive wind farm idea, don't like Mr. Pickens.

I would prefer a more decentralized wind farm plan, without the expensive grid tie in stuff... and I would prefer that it be a government run (or regulated) utility.

2. WE NEED A nationalized JFK type 10 yr be free of oil energy program, use the profit to pay off the
debt.. "BE FREE OF CHINA" NEXT

it is the only way we will ever be FREE of corporatism and foreign domination. then we can rebuild our manufacture base and export our corporate free system to every other nation.. then we might survive global warming if we cad do it in 20 years.. or our species is doomed

Pickens is a sociopathic ROBBER BARRON, FUCK'EM.. HE HAS ENOUGH MONEY

5. We only have 5 years to get it up. 10 years to have full implementation.

3. T. Boone is only out to make money for himself, it's just convenient to use
alternative energy as his excuse now.

He's NOT about wind power, he's about WATER RESOURCES for the West. He's just using wind power to get the infrastructure he needs to transport his WATER to Dallas.

4. I think I am more a Gore plan kinda guy
yeah, we should use the best solution for the individual situation, but no, there is no silver bullet in NatGas.
It is wrong headed to act like it will allow business as usual.
That would only guarantee another thirty years or so of sweeping the problem under the rug, with a worse crash at the end.

A great second whammy to leave the kids with.

6. yes. lotsa winners.
you don't have to like pickens to support a good idea. Here's what the measure proposes:

WHAT IT WOULD DO
• Authorizes $5 billion in bonds, about $2.9 billion of which would go toward rebates of $2,000 to $50,000 for buyers of alternatively fueled or highly fuel-efficient (at least 45 miles per gallon, highway) vehicles, such as the hybrid Toyota Prius. The largest subsidies would go toward purchase of commercial vehicles and buses powered exclusively by "clean alternative fuels" effectively, natural gas.

• Authorizes $2.1 billion for research, development and training for companies, local governments and colleges for renewable and alternative energy projects.

• Requires the money to be spent within 10 years, with no more than 1 percent for administering the program.
pickens, the companies, the employees in the car/truck leasing industry win because the bonds support their jobs and sales.

The bond buyers get profits. The sales and leasing companies get profits and provide jobs. The automakers sell cars. The businesses who drive the vehicles produce less pollution. The State of California makes progress meeting the EPA clean air goals. Air pollution gets attacked.

Did you know that a person born and raised in Los Angeles and similar smoggy regions has a life expectancy* 2-3 years less--and i've seen claims of 7 years less-- than a person who breathes clean air their whole life? Vote like your kids' lives depend on it.
