my encounter with a reichwinger (and there was no wine this time!!)
even though I live in one of the reddest counties in the country (although I notice far more obama than grumpy signs) and fungus on the family and new life are very close, I rarely actually have to encounter those on the reich. The first time this year was at an art event last month.

the most recent was at my supermarket-one of the butchers and I always discuss the current political outrages. the other day, a woman was clearly listening. as soon as I walked away, she approached me and said, "you really need to watch fox news on thursday night to learn the truth about obama." I replied, "I never watch fox, murdoch's station never tells the truth. by the way, are they going to discuss mccain's membership in the council on world freedom? you know, the organization he belonged to as a congressional rep, the one that attempted to overthrow the government of nicaragua? the one that supplied aid to a group in afghanistan that is now the taliban? didn't think so. you might try listening to a real news station instead of that mind drug you call a news station" and walked away.

as you can tell, my nvc training doesn't show up very often.

1. LOL - Good for you - when I do it with wine, the wine usually ends up in their face...

...sad but true.

Now that I think about it - that really is alcohol abuse.

2. oh good heavens, that is alcohol abuse. no, the last time, I was simply drinking wine at
a gallery opening. believe me, it was hard to keep from tossing the contents at someone--but that is such a waste.

3. It happened to me twice - I'm not proud of it, but it was truly a knee-jerk reaction...
...to stupid remarks like "Rumsfeld isn't a liar" and "what's wrong with gated communities" - see what I mean?

I've had plenty of encounters under the influence that were no so expressive (at least physically)
