Isn't $700,000,000,000 also the amount of money that was suppposed to be in the Social Security trust fund? I might be wrong, I'm tired and I don't want to Google it, but the point is, they wanted to drain the system, the bathtub, in Norquist-speak. It's empty now. No money is available for anything except for transactions which go through the Bush Family (capital F) He/they didn't care what bullshit story they pedaled to justify their means; when SS Privatization didn't sell as a way to funnel the last of treasury to themselves, they just took a different route.

Look, me and many other DUers wrote about this exact same situation years ago. Check my journal. In fact, many of my references to the then-impeding collapse don't live up (or down?) to how bad things might turn out to be.

We've been totally fucking hoodwinked.

6. I want to know why they don't bring this topic up more.
Remind people that these criminals, had they had their way, would have Social Security in with their gambling money. They tried to convince us what a great deal that would be.
