Letterman Skewers McCain
(snip)

Letterman questioned about Palin's claim that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama "palled around with terrorists," and McCain backed her up, saying his opponent need to better explain his relationship with former Weather Underground activist William Ayers.

"Did you not have a relationship with Gordon Liddy?" Letterman asked about Watergate burglar G. Gordon Liddy.

McCain said he knew him. Then, after a commercial break, McCain said, "I know Gordon Liddy. He paid his debt, he went to prison ... I'm not in any way embarrassed to know Gordon Liddy."

"You understand the same case could be made of your relationship with him as is being made with William Ayers?" Letterman said.

Game over. If Obama didn't take the sting out of the Ayers nonsense in last night's debate, Letterman just did it for him. Aren't these the kinds of questions that journalists should be asking?

(end snip)

2. Didn't Ayers Serve Time?
Pretty lame excuse, Gramps. So, if you're a right wing terrorist...an unreprentant one like Liddy, and you do the time, you're cool, but Ayers can never rehabilitate himself?

Dave had him at a disadvantage the entire time and took full advantage of it. Gramps had to sit there and take it...and ate a pile of shit in the process. I was watching and had to convince myself that this pathetic creatin was a presidential candidate.

7. Which should technically give him the status of "Never been a terrorist"
But not in Republican fantasy land where the facts are pliable.

12. I suppose technically
Except in this case McCain is a key player, where in Obama's case it is only guilt by association. I think it was a wise decision on Obama's part not to press this scandal, but it's nice to have in reserve.

3. Funny how we have to rely on the funny men to get to the truth.
The MSM wouldn't touch the McCain-Liddy connection with a 10' pole. Funny. But not ha-ha funny.

6. we reap what has been sown.
for a decade, it was more important for a TeeVee star to give great face and good voice, rather than to do real Journalism. I cannot remember a time that the news divisions of any media outlet INCREASED their investigative staffs. Instead, to improve quality, ie, the quality of the corporate owner's bottom line, they have repeatedly cut that part of their staff. They've moved from real news to fluff like Paris, Britnee, and missing besotted blond bimbettes, or former cops who know how to hide the bodies of their wives.

On the intertubes, WE, here and elsewhere, are doing more investigation, better, faster, cheaper, and more accurately than any news organization. Take this Joe the Plumber crap. He was a tool, a stooge, and a plant. He made shit up and loved his 15 minutes of fame. And the media ate it up. NOT ONE MEDIA DARLING bothered to do a intertube background check, that costs, $19 and would have found out all that crap about him in 2 seconds. NOT ONE!

Or the DOJ firings? We created that issue, simply because we would not let it die. Now, convictions are happening.

What of the dead in Iraq? the displaced and homeless? I can't recall the last time that MSM covered iraq.

Yes, we have an election in 18 days, but bimbos and faux plumbers are hardly the issue.

9. I totally credit John Stewart
For what I consider a historic shaming of the MSM when he took the now deceased "Crossfire" to task. I think "funnymen" started realizing that no one else was going to tell the truth so they might as well.
