DUers please explain to me why most of M$Greedia
does not dismiss lies on their programs. Why do they just carry this Rethug propaganda even when it has been proven to be lies. Why are they playing this robotape over and over. WTF is going on?

1. A few reasons:
1) They don't want to give the appearance of being biased. This means bending over backwards to avoid saying anything that could be construed as supporting one side over another.
2) They want to present everything as though there are two equally valid points of view. This often means that marginal and discredited points of view are given equal time--again, trying to avoid the appearance of biased reporting.
3) Ratings. The longer they can draw out a controversy, the more viewers they can potentially draw by bringing more people to argue about it. It becomes a competition to see which network can have the best 'debates' on what should have been a non-issue.

Of course, if there was a shred of decency left in the institution, we wouldn't be talking about this.

2. Good points but they're already showing bias
or they might bring up the 2004 voting mess in Ohio as well as the Diebold machines.

3. Right-wing bias isn't 'bias.'
