Northern Virginia doesn't really exist, according to Team McCain.....
from ThinkProgress:

Pfotenhauer Insults Virginians: ‘Real Virginia’ Is Only Where McCain Is Winning»

On MSNBC this morning, McCain adviser Nancy Pfotenhauer asserted that “real Virginia” does not include Northern Virginia:

I certainly agree that Northern Virginia has gone more Democratic. … But the rest of the state — real Virginia if you will — I think will be very responsive to Senator McCain’s message.

MSNBC host Kevin Corke gave Pfotenhauer a chance to revise her answer, telling her: “Nancy, I’m going to give you a chance to climb back off that ledge — Did you say ‘real Virginia’?”

But Pfotenhauer didn’t budge, and instead dug a deeper hole.

Real Virginia, I take to be, this part of the state that’s more Southern in nature, if you will.

Thorpe ended the segment noting that Pfotenhauer was appearing via satellite from Northern Virginia. “Nancy Pfotenhauer, senior policy adviser for the McCain campaign, joining us from Arlington, not really Virginia.” “Alright, I’m just gonna let ya– you’ll wear that one,” Corke responded. The McCain campaign’s hostility towards progressive areas of the country was also witnessed by recent remarks from Sarah Palin. The Washington Post reported this week that Palin told a crowd in North Carolina that she “loved to visit the ‘pro-America‘ areas of the country.” “No word on which states she views as unpatriotic,” wrote Juliet Eilperin.

FLASHBACK: During his 2006 campaign, former Sen. George Allen called an Indian-American staffer working for his opponent “macaca,” a racial slur. Allen then told him, “Welcome to America and the real world of Virginia!“

1. Oh, fuck.
I knew I wasn't real, and I knew this place where I dwell isn't real, and none of it is real, and shit, I'm tellin' ya, you betcha, I just feel so, you know, like a fake Virginian.

I guess I'll have to turn in my driver's license and my license plates and my law license and now I won't have to pay those pesky property and Commonwealth taxes.

There are, it would seem, some advantages to being unreal.

I wonder if I'm invisible, too.

Can anyone see me?

Yoo Hoo!!!!

4. All of those evil DCers crossing the border!
"As a proud resident of Oakton, Va., I can tell you that the Democrats have just come in from the District of Columbia and moved into northern Virginia," McCain senior adviser Nancy Pfotenhauer said on MSNBC. "And that's really what you see there. But the rest of the state, real Virginia, if you will, I think will be very responsive to Sen. McCain's message."

To my friends in Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, etc., please crush McNasty/Mooselini on 11/4!

5. So are they going to redraw the map if they get in?
If so, I would like to put in a request that the northern and NE part of the Country be able to become part of Canada or at least be left alone.

6. Is this McCain's next campaign strategy?
First it's his running mate, then a surrogate, and now one of his own mouth pieces.

Congratulations McCain, you are the weakest link.

8. Map showing real and fake Virginia
Just did a quicky map using the counties/cities that Kerry won in 2004 I would imagine that the current polls are pretty close to this. Kerry lost the state by 260,000 votes. Over 500,000 new voters have registered since then.

If you live in a highlighted area you are not a real Virginian. That includes me.
