What is un-American? A message to Backmann
It is not un-American to live in a large city rather than a small town.
It is not un-American to enjoy arugala and lattes.
It is not un-American to have an ethnic name.
It is not un-American to believe healthcare should be a right, not a privilege.
It is not un-American to believe that “Drill, baby, drill!” is not the answer to the energy crisis.
It is not un-American to value diplomacy and peace.
It is not un-American to want women to make decisions about their health and reproductive rights rather than the government.
It is not un-American to question a candidate’s positions on the issues and expect answers.
It is not un-American to be gay or atheist or Muslim or tolerant of those folks.
It is not un-American to disagree with the President.
It is not un-American to believe the greedy folks on Wall Street didn’t deserve a bailout.
It is not un-American to believe that doing what is best for the shareholders often isn’t what’s best for the nation.
It is not un-American to support our troops by wanting to end an unnecessary war.
It is not un-American to value science and education.
It is not un-American to see your nation as imperfect and want it to be better.
It is not un-American to believe that major changes are necessary to insure a bright future for your children and real possibility of achieving the American dream.
It is not un-American to vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

3. It IS un-American to . . .
It is un-American to steal an election.
It is un-American to start an unnecessary war and lie about the cause.
It is un-American to spy on American citizens without a warrent.
It is un-American to out a CIA agent, and pretend you had nothing to do with it.
It is un-American to ignore fellow citizens devastated by a natural disaster, to coral them at gunpoint when they try to flee, and to leave a great American city lying in ruins.
It is un-American to suspend habeus corpus without cause.
It is un-American to abnegate treaties ratified by the senate, such as the Geneva Conventions, and the Nuclear Anti-proliferation Treaty.
It is un-American to condone and practise torture.
It is un-American to hold prisoners indefinitely without charges, or access to a lawyer.
It is un-American to "render" prisoners to other countries to be tortured.
It is un-American to disappear thousands of people into an unacknowledged gulag of prisons around the world.
It is un-American to detain and torture juveniles as "unlawful combatants".
It is un-American to undermine the posse comitatus act and station an active army battalion on American soil for civil defense duty.
It is un-American to undermine the checks and balances written into the constitution, to pretend that the office of Vice President staddles two branches of government, to put forth a bullshit theory of Unitary Executive, all for the aggrandizement of power for the executive branch.
It is un-American to ignore repeatedly lawful subpeonas issued by congress.

....this can go on and on. Seriously, I don't know why we let any Republican play the patriotism card. The evidence indicates to me that it is Republicans that hate America, or at least what America stands for. It is Republicans that should be investigated for their seditious behavior.

5. Feels good, huh?
I'm so tired of Republicans like Backmann telling me I'm not American enough. Like Palin's comments about small towns.

Who says they get to define what is "American"?

With Obama/Biden in the White House and a REAL majority in Congress, WE will define America based on the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

8. I don't think any of those you listed are hot, and Coulter isn't a woman
Edited on Sun Oct-19-08 04:01 AM by DainBramaged
notice how all pro american (republican) women always look so hot (Palin, Coulter, Bachmann) and all democratic women look like broken down dikes. I mean I'm a hardcore democrat but damn I wish our women looked like republicans hehe
God Bless America!

:eyes: And "broken down dykes"????? Like dams??? That word around here, sir, is a slur.

9. You like super skinny and vapid?
Or is it the slightly mad social smile and the unwrinkled skin? (I'm not sure whether that's from botox or never having had a serious thought to wrinkle the brow)
