Question on voter registration/polling locations.
Hi, I believe that I'm still registered to vote, and missed today's California cutoff for registration anyway. Got to the post office late... I've moved a year ago (voted in 2006) but didn't change my address...and with the post office closed and registration help lines closed for the day, wonder if all I may require is a simple change of address form to become up to date...thanks for any thoughts...

1. you "believe"? not to be rude man, but we've been telling people to check and double check
their voter status. If you've missed the boat, you deserve whatever you get and have no say in the matter.

Sorry to be so harsh, but shit.

2. Yep, I know, and understood the potential for lambasting upon asking the question.
I only screw up where it -really- matters. I have a gift.

4. Voter registration cards will be available until 9:00 p.m. on Monday night.

They are available at post offices, city hall, libraries, and the Registrar of Voters Office.

They might have held the postmark open til midnight. Our main post office does that every four years, bless 'em.

Run on over, you have just under two hours.

Edit: Sorry Crispini, the running on over was meant for Peake. Bad linking skills on my part.

8. I got it. :)
We have a procrastinator's voter registration party down at our main post office every four years. Anybody who drags into the main post office (which is not in a particularly nice part of town) at 10:30 at night on the day of the deadline -- well, you know THAT'S a Democrat. Hee!

5. Theoretically, you ought to be able to vote "at" your old address
for two years after you move. Unless you got "dropped." I would check your registration online at the California secretary of state and see where it tells you to go vote. Since voter registration is closed, that means closed even for change of addresses. So, if you somehow got "purged" you're pretty much SOL, sorry.

13. I tried to answer your question earlier but couldn't get back on DU
If you now have a different address you must re-register. It is now 9:10 pm. Maybe you took someone's advice here and sought out a post office that stayed open late.
