Yahoo to slash jobs, costs as quarterly profit falls
2:28 PM, October 21, 2008

Yahoo said today that it would lay off at least 10% of its workforce over the next few months to grapple with the fallout of the deepening economic crisis. 1. My sister already got the axe earlier this year....
...luckily, she's now gainfully employed at the LA Times.

3. Yahoo hasn't been the same since they changed their message boards
Over a year ago, they stopped linking message boards to their news stories. Some of the funniest times I've ever spent on the Internet were on those boards. Every story about the Bush administration involved a Bush bashfest extraordinaire with outrageously funny posts. Every story about chimpanzees seemed to bring Bush bashers out of the woodwork. Those boards used to draw thousands of anti-Bush posters.
