It means that the 2006 election should have been a TOTAL repudiation of Bush/Cheney & Halliburton! As it is, it was NOT enough to accomplish the job. That's what this election is all about. I've set that article aside for later (and CLOSE) reading, but I've read enough to validate the claim.

In 2000, Katherine Harris was able to PURGE many tens of thousands of voters. The MO was like this: The name "Joseph Smythe" (CLEAN) was close enough to "Joe Smith" (FELON), to have him tossed (with NO notification). This year? If the SAME person is listed as "Robert Jones" on one form, and "Robert A. Jones" on the other, it would NOT be a "match". Toss him!

But this year may be different. It those malefactors are nabbed, the WILL go to jail. That may put the fear of God into many.

The 2000 election caught us "napping" because we reasonable people did not believe that such a thing could happen in this country -- we were BUSHwhacked. The past 8 years have given us incredible, horrific scenarios that average citizens (like me) would never have believed possible (like Gitmo and the war in Iraq).

We must not become too complacent and get caught napping again just because we believe that something so obvious and audacious and wrong can't happen -- it CAN.
