7. Andy Griffith portrayed the "LBJ" character in "Washington Behind Closed Doors",
back in 1977, and was damn convincing. If you never saw it, it is now out on DVD and well-worth a rental!

10. check out Andy in "A Face in the Crowd"
you don't star in a movie like that and not be a liberal
one of my favorite films ever - and Walter Matthau's speech at the end is so beautifully cynical.

And wonderful to see those characters again after all this time. :)

However, it does not seem that everyone got where Ron was coming from. There are some very stupid posts from even more stupid people in the comments section but this one stood out.

You tell me if you can't just taste the hilarious irony in THIS gem.

"Some of us are smart enough to know, Opie, that certain kinds of change are not positive. Some of us do want change, but disagree on where we should obtain it. I'm not led by fear. I am absolutely NOT a racist, closet or otherwise, and am offended that some make such an unfair assumption. I am also not a sheep to be led around by the media, or Ron, Andy, or Henry (or the great Oprah). I use my brain to listen to what the candidates say. Obama says very little about how he plans to accomplish his ideals. McCain has specific plans that are NOT clones of Bush's plans. Listen and learn, sheep."

And the kicker? The Poster goes by the name of SmartGirl.
