"we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice"

The woman also told police her attacker "called her a lot of names and stated that 'You are going to be a Barack supporter,' at which time she states he sat on her chest, pinning both her hands down with his knees, and scratched into her face a backward letter 'B' on the right side of her face using what she believed to be a very dull knife." Perp must have gone on a crime spree with a butter knife

The alleged assailant fled on foot, Richard said.

"We, the police, cannot substantiate this yet," she said. "This is what she told police. "translation - we,the police, think she's a damn liar

The woman, who is from Texas, refused medical attention, Richard said, although she told the investigating officer she would see a doctor Thursday. There was no update on her condition, she said.

Richard said the woman described her alleged attacker as a dark-skinned African-American, 6 feet 4 inches tall with a medium build and short dark hair, wearing dark clothing and shiny shoes.

McCain spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker told CNN that McCain and running mate Sarah Palin "spoke to the victim and her family after learning about the incident earlier this afternoon." uh oh.. their gonna be using her at rallys

Hazelbaker said the campaign would not offer more detail out of respect for the woman's privacy.

The campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama responded to the report with a statement saying, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice."

1. What an idiot. Apparently she doesn't realize that you'd need a sharp
knife to make the superficial marks on her face. A dull knife would require much more pressure and do more damage.

2. Why the eye roll?
That statement is vague. There's a crime here, one way or another. Either some mythical, magical monstrous BLACK MAN (boo!) actually did this -OR- the doughy mentally handicapped girl in question filed FALSE POLICE REPORT and thus perpetrated a crime. The Obama camp hedged its bets beautifully as far as I'm concerned.

4. Sounds more likely that her boyfriend did it.
Why a "B" for Obama? That makes absolutely no sense. Any Obama supporter would use an "O" to represent Obama. Only people like Palin call Obama Barack. They usually say his middle name too. Only a stupid right winger would think to put a "B" on someone or something to represent Obama. This makes no sense.

I think her boyfriend got mad at her, beat her up, then put a "B" for B**ch on her face. She was hurt and angry and made up this story to get some attention.

The woman needs some serious psychiatric help. If Palin and the old guy wanted to help her, they would pay for her to see a counselor, not use her as an expedient political tool.
