UhOh - Ashley, Ashley, Ashley don't you know ATMs have cameras?
Police planned to administer a polygraph test to Ashley Todd, 20, because her statements about the attack conflict with evidence from the Citizens Bank ATM where she claims the incident occurred, police said.

<snip>
After reports of the assault hit the news -- aided by feverish headlines from Matt Drudge -- Ashley Todd reportedly received calls from both Sarah Palin and John McCain, expressing sympathy.

If her story is indeed entirely made up, she's made them look like fools. In fact, she made the Obama campaign look a foolish for buying her line of bull, as well, since the Democratic candidate's people issued a statement roundly condemning this crime and saying they hoped "that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice."

Ashley Todd may not have had any clue as to what she was doing when she reported this "crime." At 20 (or 23 -- the age given on her MySpace profile) a lot of people still have very little ability to govern their impulses or predict the outcome of their actions.

If Todd didn't have a clue then, she may have one now. She's made her Twitter feed and MySpace private, acts that smell like retreat. If she goes through with the polygraph, I will be utterly amazed. My prediction is that a lawyer will become involved and start pointing the finger back at the Pittsburgh police. The case will linger until after the election, when some sort of arrangement will quietly be made between Ashley Todd and the authorities -- she'll get off with a fine for false reporting, perhaps.

6. She must be exposed before the election
I doubt she'll get jail for this but a heavy fine and public humiliation would be fine. I'm betting Rachel will discuss this tonight.

Many young adults still have a round "baby" face.

5. A backward "B" is suppose to represent Obama?
I think the backward "B" represents that she did it in the MIRROR to herself. Only a right-wing idiot would use a "B" to represent Obama. And unless the criminal was dyslexic, the "B" would be facing the normal way.

11. Some news sources are saying the incident was "out of range" of the ATM camera(s).
I don't know where they got this idea, how would they know unless they got it from her? And how would she know what the range of the surveillance camera(s) are?

This whole story does not pass the smell test.

13. It won't take cops long to shatter this rubbish story
She said on her blog that she was looking for a Bank of America to save $2.00 in fees yet this 'supposedly' happened at Citizens. What if there was no 'so called ATM robbery' in the first place?

12. I don't believe
that this makes either candidate look foolish. I think it makes her look like a raving lunatic, but both Obama and McCain did the proper thing in expressing their initial well wishes. Now, with proof that it is a false accusation, they should roundly condemn such actions.

This woman, if the reports are true that she perpetrated this herself, should be jailed. She's dangerous.

32. I agree
Both campaigns did the right thing in expressing sympathy. Had McCain latched on to this "attack" the way he latched on to "Joe the Plumber" and started milking it for political gain, then he would've looked asinine.

21. I know somebody who worked at a bank. They said that people came
in all the time saying that they did't make a withdrawl that showed up on their statement. The bank would pull the tape, and there the person would be, making the withdrawl, usually drunk as crap. So there is some question if everybody knows. Of course this was a long time ago too.

Even the koolaid drinkers at Hannity's board question the story.

She is the one who perpetrated the crime, by scratch a backwards B on her own face and filing a false police report.

Hopefully, she will be swiftly brought to justice.

We all know there is a camera focused on us at the ATM machines, but it seems banks would have multiple camera in hopes of catching images of fleeing bank robbers and their cars. No?

"that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice."

That would cover WHOEVER did a crime in this instance

30. more: in the initial police statement by Todd, the McCain sticker was not mentioned
Pittsburgh police detectives for the second time last night interviewed a John McCain campaign volunteer who told them she was mugged and the letter B cut into her face following a robbery in Bloomfield on Wednesday.

~snip~

"The initial report would lead us to believe it was a street robbery," said Zone 5 police Cmdr. Larry Ross.

Zone 5 detectives were handling the case initially, but it was turned over to the robbery squad last night after the case made national headlines.

When Ms. Todd reported the incident, "nowhere did she say to the officer that made reference to the bumper sticker. I don't know how she came to the conclusion that he noticed the sticker," Cmdr. Ross said.

He said the description of the robber as a 6-foot 4-inch, 200-pound black man is similar to that of a man who robbed a Liberty Avenue bank in recent weeks.

Polygraph results have not yet been released.

That is glorious - because within 24 hours, this story is going to be all over the news and not for the reasons they want. Todd is going to be exposed for the fraud that she is!!!
What's Grandpa and his young trollop going to do at that point once its discovered its fake and that they tried to capitalize on it for political gain!?!?!

The most pathetic and inept campaign I have ever seen.

<snip>
A McCain campaign volunteer made up a story of being robbed, pinned to the ground and having the letter "B” scratched on her face in a politically inspired attack, police said Friday.

Ashley Todd, 20-year-old college student from College Station, Texas, admitted Friday that the story was false and was being charged with making a false report to police, said Maurita Bryant, the assistant chief of the police department’s investigations division. Police doubted her story from the start, Bryant said.

Bryant said somebody charged with making a false report would typically be cited and sent a summons. But because police have concerns about Todd’s mental health, they are consulting with the Allegheny County District Attorney.

Todd remained in custody, and police were preparing to charge her with making a false report to police.

"We had some serious cases going on, and this wasted so much time," Bryant said. "Our detectives have been working through the night just to verify the information we suspected was false from the beginning."

Todd worked in New York for the College Republican National Committee before moving two weeks ago to Pennsylvania, where her duties included recruiting college students, the committee’s executive director, Ethan Eilon, has said.

There will be lots more mentally challenged Freepers in a few days. Expect no sympathy from me.
Fugg you Ashley Todd.
