1. Well, any of us who want to make some money...
should take it out from under the mattress and put it in the stock market.

There are many many companies who's stock prices are going to go 2X, 3X, 4X, and many more when this recovers and especially with an Obama Presidency. Those of us who know which ones are going to go up are going to see a HUGH return over the next 4-5 years.

9. Ok, ok...I know..."Mr. Know it all"
Edited on Fri Oct-24-08 09:57 AM by serrano2008
But one of two things is going to happen, either the stock market is going to drop to 0 and go completely out of business.

OR

It's going to recover to exactly where it was a year ago and probably go up even farther with a Dem President. So, look at the prices of some big companies a year ago. Take Target for example...it's 50% down from it's 52 week high. Does anyone in their right mind think Target isn't going to recover from this? Same way with most large corporations. Any large company that generally does well and is down 50% or more just because the whole market is down - is going to recover above their 52 week high.

Hell, even GM...down from it's 52 week high of $39.45 to um...$5.31. This one's a little more risky but there's no way the Govt. is going to let GM go out of business, don't you read the news? Everyday there's stories about everyone making sure GM doesn't go out of business! It's a lock!

Almost forgot to mention...IT'S GONNA BE HUGH!!!

4. I told a good friend weeks ago to put it under the mattress!
Although, I do have to agree with the other poster so far, now is a great time to buy.
If I had the money, I would buy real estate. If the stock market is down 40+% from the high, real estate, at least in my town is up 5% this year.

10. I just took my retirement money and put it in money markets
I know that they are in danger, too, but not as bad. My financial guy tried to talk me out of this, but I don't care. I know I will lose when the markets rebound, but damn, I am not going to play this game anymore. I am not playing the game where the odds are loaded against the average person, and Wall St thieves walk away with millions. I am done.
