There were more foreclosed houses in Lewiston than I could count. Tons of restaurants and other businesses were boarded up or for sale. The damn placed is starting to resemble some of the third world shit-holes I used to have to work in. Yet a huge majority of these people still, are rabid bush, and mccain supporters. This is year after year...no matter how badly they continue to get screwed by the people that they pull the lever for.

It's a dual thing...the fundie-religious thing where they really, honestly, do not look past god, gays, and abortion, and could give two shits about anything else (their reward being in heaven and the other snake oil they are sold), and just plain old bigotry. It's a very fucked up mixture. My wifes best friend is from Idaho, and their entire family would rather see the country go down in flames economically than see a black man elected President. They honestly do not care.

nor is it true. Everybody did not benefit under Clinton, and everybody is not suffering now (not yet anyway). The 1990s were pretty awful for me, even though I was ten years younger. I spent most of them working two jobs - full time at a crappy factory job ($5.40 an hour and almost no benefits) plus another 45 hours a week at my own business. After I closed that business and moved to Iowa, the new Democratic governor there kept talking about the "problem" of Iowa's future labor shortage. How about MY problem of being unable to get a non-temp job? I had to move to Kansas for that, and it happened under the Bush misadministration.

They're simply childish, spiteful brats in adult bodies. They never grew up, even though they might have become older chronologically.

They feel that because they have to suffer, they should have to make everybody else suffer, too.
