Someone just mentioned that Obama supporters call him Obama while
those that oppose him call him Barack, Is there a point to that do you think? Is Barack somehow more belittling than Obama or is it a show of disrespect to refer to an US Senator by his first name or ????? Is there any rhyme to this reason?

1. I don't agree at all. Many of his supporters call him Barack. It's such a great-sounding name.
I use it whenever I can.

7. I made a post where Palin called him "Barack".........

as opposed to the formal "Senator Obama" which, I believe, is the acceptable way to address him in a professional setting. The point was also made that those who worked closely with him and knew him well have the familiarity to refer to him by his first name. I find her familiar use of his first name to be disrespectful.

10. I am not sure there is much to this
Bush detractors called him "Bush", Bush supporters called him "W". It can go either way.

15. I call him Senator Obama. Can't wait to say President Obama...
He's the first public official, in I can't remember how long, that I actually respect and use his title when talking about him.

I'm really tired of saying moron* about, well, moron*.
